About Me
My name is Donna and I am an Ofsted registered childminder living in Titchfield Common. I have two grown up children and two gorgeous grandchildren!
Eddy, my husband ,works alongside me as my assistant at Stepping Stones Childminding. He is a qualified teacher (B.Ed. Maths) and has had many years experience working with a variety of different age ranges in schools. We both hold full Paediatric First Aid Qualifications and regularly update our Enhanced DBS certificates. Other members in our household ( my mother and son- who works from home) also hold Enhanced DBS certificates.
I am also a member of CORAM PACEY and attend their online seminars and courses to keep my training updated. Likewise,I also attend Tigerlily webinars on a variety of subjects, which I feedback to Eddy. We also have a subscription to Nursery World Magazine to keep us updated on current legislation and other EYFS guidelines.
We will provide a warm, safe and friendly home environment in which children feel valued, can play, learn and develop.
We have a bright and airy play room which has free flow into a secure garden. We have a second room which is used for quieter activities.
We have a purpose built bathroom for the children to use. This has a baby changing station as well as hand washing facilities.
We offer the children a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors- including lots of sensory play and a mud kitchen in the garden.
We have access to many play parks , the beach ,woodlands and local shops and libraries. We incorporate these in our learning. We also attend local Toddler Groups.
I have Public Liability Insurance and Business Use car insurance, with age appropriate car seats for the children.

My Experience
I have worked in schools and childcare settings for more than thirty years. I have worked as a pre-school supervisor, 1-1 with a child with severe visual impairment and I have many years experience of working with children with special needs. My most recent experience has been working with children on the autistic spectrum and EBD children. I have vast experience of adapting activities so that all children can participate and benefit. I am also able to make and use resources to help children if required such as; P.E.C.s, visual aids schedules and Makaton Sign Language. We do use these within our setting on a daily basis.
I have worked within Early Years Foundation Stage and also with older children-up to the age of eleven.
Eddy has been a Primary School Teacher for many years. Before we became childminders he became a supply teacher- mostly in Key Stage 1- as we made the decision to teach our own children at home throughout their secondary school school years.
My Qualifications
N.N.E.B
B.A. degree in Childhood Studies.
10 O level/GCSE at grades A-C.
Level Three in Preparing to work in Home-Based Education.
Full Paediatric First Aid.
Enhanced DBS certificate.
My Availability
My opening hours are Monday - Friday between 07.00 and 18.00.
I am always prepared to be flexible to try and accommodate childcare needs wherever possible. Further hours can be arranged by request.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
Monday - Friday : £5 per hour. £7 per hour for wrap around care for children who attend St.John the Baptist C of E Primary School, Titchfield Common.
Fees include a healthy snack in the morning and afternoon. We offer water to drink throughout the day and, as we are members of the Nursery Milk Scheme, we can provide children under the age of 5 a third of a pint of milk free each day they attend our setting.
Breakfast is charge at £1 per day.
25% discount for siblings attending on the same day.
I do not currently provide meals-apart from breakfast - but will ensure all packed lunches are stored appropriately, with special regard to children who may have allergies.
