About Me
Hello everyone, and welcome to Mandarin Orange Bilingual Childcare.
My name is Lina, and I am fluent in Mandarin and English, with some knowledge of Korean. I hold a degree in Early Years Education and Care and am an enthusiastic, approachable, and passionate early years professional.
I am OFSTED registered and provide a warm “home-from-home” childcare experience. Our setting offers a spacious outdoor garden for children to play and explore, alongside a carefully designed indoor environment that supports children’s learning and development. Within walking distance, we are fortunate to have access to two large parks, a local library, and soft play centres, which enrich our daily experiences.
As a childminder, I value the flexibility this role provides, allowing children to explore, discover, and better understand the world around them. I also hold a Merlin Annual Pass, which enables us to enjoy a wide range of educational outings, such as visits to SEA LIFE, animal attractions, and Chessington World of Adventures, offering children valuable real-life learning experiences.
I live with my husband, Michael, and our two lovely boys—one aged five and a half, currently in Year 1, and the other three years old, attending preschool. We are a warm, kind, and caring family, deeply committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment for all children.
I am truly passionate about early years education and love providing children with a broad range of meaningful experiences and engaging activities. Through high-quality care, ongoing observations, and termly progress reports, I work closely with parents to plan each child’s next steps in learning, based on their individual interests and developmental needs.
Each week, activities are carefully planned in line with the seven areas of learning within the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). We also celebrate festivals, cultural events, seasonal changes, and monthly themes, creating a rich, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports every child’s growth and development.
My Experience
I have over ten years of experience working with children across Australia, China, and the United Kingdom. Throughout my career, I have been involved in a wide range of early childhood education roles, including teaching Mandarin and English, as well as leading storytelling and language-rich activities. I have worked with children of various age groups within nursery settings, gaining a strong understanding of children’s developmental needs at different stages.
Prior to becoming a childminder, I worked as a Senior Educator in a UK nursery, where I played an active role in planning, observations, and supporting children’s learning and development. I am also a qualified AMI Montessori Assistant (0–3 years), and I thoughtfully incorporate Montessori principles—such as independence, hands-on learning, and respect for the child—into my daily practice.
I provide bilingual education grounded in the seven areas of learning within the EYFS, and I greatly enjoy guiding children as they explore different aspects of learning through play. Our activities regularly include sensory play, messy play, baking, and nature-based experiences, such as exploring the mud kitchen or creating crafts using natural materials like sticks and leaves.
In addition, I offer Mandarin storytelling, delivered in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way. A wide range of carefully selected resources is used to support these activities, all of which align with the EYFS framework and are designed to promote children’s physical development, communication skills, creativity, and overall wellbeing.

Na is a very experienced teacher who designs engaging and creative outdoor activities and crafts. Her approach covers children’s language development, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills. More importantly, she always provides me with detailed feedback and plenty of photos after each session, which makes me feel very reassured.
