From April 2026 we are looking to employ somebody to assist with afterschool care.
We are a family of 5 that require childcare support in our home during the week for our 6yo daughter who has special needs due to a rare genetic disorder. Our daughter is a happy delight and loves the company of others. We are looking for afterschool care a few days per week.
Our daughter requires support with her after school snack, getting changed and play. She responds positively to sensory play, storytelling, music and lots of engagement. Some ad hoc weekend work may also be available.
On the days worked either myself (mum) or dad will be home or working from home. We have another daughter who is 4 years old and a son who is 2 years old so an extra pair of hands much needed!
Experience with special needs children not essential. A positive attitude, compassion and sense of fun all that is required ?

My Requirements
Childcare requirements include:
- sensory play
- setting up and observing feeds (training will be provided)
- changing nappy
- supporting motor skills development
- minimal moving
- bath (only if hours in early evening)
- cuddles :)
