About Me
We’re a family of four living in High Wycombe close to the train station. Both Rebecca and Graeme work full time, and commute into London 2/3 and 4 days respectively; working at home the other days of the week.
Isla is 4 in July - she's a confident, curious and caring child that enjoys being creative, role play with her doll and teddy 'friends' and engaging with others about the world around her. She's sensitive and can be anxious around new people or settings, but once comfortable, she thrives. We're expecting the transition to school to be a little tricky at first and so want to find a nanny that can work with us all to support this transition. We're confident she'll love it once she's settled as she's really keen to learn and be a 'big girl'.
Ethan was 2 in April - he's also a confident, curious and caring child that adores his sister (thankfully it's felt by Isla too). He loves role play, building things and at the moment singing out of tune! He's more laid back than Isla and transitions easily, enjoying new places and speaking with new people once he's watched for a little bit. Given his age, he has some separation anxiety with Rebecca but has no problem going into nursery forging strong relationship with his carers so we're confident the same will be the case for whoever comes to work with us too.
Both children love to be outside and we're fortunate to have an outdoor play area that they can happily spend hours in even when it's grey outdoors.
My Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced nanny to support with afterschool care from September 2025 for our daughter Isla who will be attending High Wycombe C of E Primary School. We would like someone to pick Isla up from school at the end of the school day, support her with homework tasks, potentially take her to afterschool clubs in the local area, and cook and give her dinner.
We would also require the nanny to pick up our son from nursery at 5:30pm and give him a snack. He is at a nursery close to High Wycombe station (5 minutes drive away). Ideally, we'd love to find someone who we can work with over multiple years. Ethan goes to school in 2027 so at that point it would be pick up from the same school for both children.
Before pick-up, we would ask the nanny to support child-related houshold tasks such as preparing food for the children, tidying up toys, preparing activities, changing their beds, putting away clothes and other reasonable requests.
We're ideally looking for support Monday - Thursday until 6pm. We are open to exploring starting time and number of hours for the right fit but at a minimum expect 16 hours (from 2pm). Ideally, but not essential, we would like someone who could flex to stay later than 6pm if required with reasonable notice.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is prefably a qualified childcare practitioner with a first aid qualification, business insurance and their own car that can be used to pick the children up and take them to activities.
• Ideally has proven experience with under 5s
• Will work with us as a team to best support the children's wellbeing.
• Will cook healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the children (both are vegetarian)
• Will actively support learning with support on reading, writing and other homework tasks
• Will organise interesting, varied and fun activities for the children as required. We have a big indoor and outdoor play area.
• Will actively support potty training (as Ethan is starting over summer 2025).
• Is comfortable being around cats as we have two indoor cats (they mostly sleep!) and putting some food down for them (they will otherwise shout at you!)
