My Experience

I have over 19 years of professional childcare experience, working with children from 0–16 years, including children with additional needs and multiples. My journey began through college and university placements, followed by three years working within a home nursery setting before moving into more personal, home-based roles.

I have worked as:

A Childminder Assistant

A Nursery Practitioner

And now, proudly, the owner of my own home nursery Trailblazing Tots

Becoming a registered childminder has allowed me to create the kind of environment I truly believe children deserve: calm, emotionally safe, connected to nature, and unhurried.

Alongside my childcare experience, I also worked caring for elderly people and in a care home while my own children were young. This deepened my understanding of patience, dignity, empathy and person-centred care. Supporting people at both the beginning and later stages of life has shaped me into a compassionate, reflective caregiver who values emotional wellbeing above all.

I am also a mum to two children of my own, including two children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This has given me lived experience, insight and understanding that goes far beyond textbooks. It has strengthened my advocacy, patience, adaptability and commitment to inclusive practice. I understand first-hand the importance of feeling heard, supported and understood as both a child and a parent.

Every role I have held, whether with children or the elderly, has reinforced my belief that care should always be gentle, respectful and centred around the individual.

My Qualifications

19 years childcare experience from being a Childminder assistant to being a Nanny and having my own business as a childminder for the last 4 years

A-Levels in Health & Social Care and Sociology

Study in Child Development

7 high-grade GCSE passes

Paediatric First Aid qualified

Full clean driving licence

30 Hours of training compeleted every year Moving and Handling

Monday to Friday 7:30am until 5:30pm term time

My Fees

• Childminding from £6.00 per hour

6per hour
wrap around care £5 per hour
for all funded placement 50p a day for snack and 50p activities and groups
