About Me
Hi, I’m Rhiannon. I am a highly innovative, reliable and resourceful individual. I am friendly, confident and consider myself to have a personality well-suited for working with children as I am both outgoing and conscientious. I am have recently registered with Ofsted to start a new career as a childminder. I have nearly 20 years in childcare, ranging from babysitting, working in schools, nannying and my most recent role was room leader in a busy private nursery. I am very excited to start this new opportunity as a childminder and where I can utilise my rich set of skills and knowledge within the field and to further enhance my expertise.
I have a Masters degree in Clinical Child Psychology, and a Level 3 NVQ in childcare. I am also a mum to 3 young children.
I have a passion for this job as I think the early years is such an important time of a child’s life and there is so much for them to learn in the first 5 years of life.
I will follow a child-led approach, encouraging children to explore their interests through open-ended play, creativity, and outdoor adventures. I have a secure garden with suitable toys and equipment, that they children will have supervised access to throughout the day. I love
to be outdoors, and live near parks, woods and rivers to feed ducks which can aid children to explore the world around them and help them develop a love of nature and being outdoors.
I treat every child in my care with patience and warmth, and with a small ratio I can really work on their individual differences and likes and learn to celebrate the unique child they are. My aim
Is to make children feel safe and secure to help them to develop educationally and emotionally.
I live in a quiet area in Broxbourne, and I will offer a home from home feel for the children. Two of my children go to Broxbourne primary school so I can so drop offs and pick ups from there.
My Experience
I have nearly 20 years in childcare from newborns up until teenagers. I have worked in many different settings such as nurseries, school, play-schemes and sole charge nanny.
My current role is a room leader for 2 year olds age children within a busy nursery in Hertford. My role includes caring for the children, planning activities, writing development checks for the children and managing a small team of staff, making sure our room is being run to the best of our abilities.
My Qualifications
I have a Level 3 early years qualification and an MSc in Clinical Child Psychology.
My Availability
The hours I will be open are from
8am to 6pm. If a parent needs a slightly later pick up, this can be discussed.
