My Summary
About Me
Hello and thank you for having a look at my profile.
I have been in the childcare sector for over 12 years and I am a qualified Early Years Teacher. I am a registered childminder and work with 2 others to provide childcare for slightly more children than a childminder working on their own, although that being said we work on a high adult to child ratio as I am only willing to care for a maximum of 7 children.
I have 3 children myself, my eldest is 19 and studying Biomedical Science at Sheffield University, my other 2 are 12 & 10 yrs old. We share our house (and garden) with lots of animals including, Bonnie the rabbit, Rory the guinea pig, Spike the Bearded Dragon, numerous tropical fish and a little Chinese crested powder puff dog called Gizmo.
My job is so rewarding, especially seeing the children who we have cared for since babies make the big transition into school with all the knowledge and independence that will make them confident and willing little learners, that's the best feeling in the world!
Being a single parent myself I understand the difficulties faced by working parents and hope that in small ways I can ease that burden slightly by ensuring children's home routine is mimicked at my setting, that children have a good settling in period to ensure that the transistion is as smooth as possible and that they are given healthy nutritious meals during the day. I also try to be as flexible as possible with hours required and have various fee structures to reflect the number of hours needed.
My Experience
As well as being a mum of 3, I have worked with children of all ages for so many years. Before working in the childcare sector I worked in the health and fitness industry organising children's activities for under 5's and teaching them the importance of exercise and eating healthy.
Being an Early Years Teacher I have an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and this underpins what we do every single day. Myself and my small team plan activities for children weekly (and sometimes hourly or even on the spot! ) to ensure children develop skills and understanding in the following areas: Reading, literacy, maths, the world around them, expressive art and design and personal, social and emotional understanding. The activities organised are a combination of adult and child led and since as we are a setting that caters for all ages these are tailored to every age group.
We provide termly reports for children and work in close partnership with parents and carers to ensure children's needs are met and any additional support required is provided. I have experience in working with children with additional needs and working alongside other professionals to ensure that we provide the best possible start for all children.

Our child has been with Lou and her team since she was one, and is now three years old. The team are warm and welcoming and our daughter absolutely loves attending. The activities she does there has enhanced her learning no end, and the facilities with the big garden and variety of animals is a real treat. The communication between staff and parents makes me feel up to date with my child's day to day, and I have no doubt in my mind to recommend this to other people looking for childcare for your child.
I'd visited several childminders/nurseries prior to returning to work earlier this year and was so anxious about leaving my baby, however, after meeting Louise and her team all my worries went away.
My Husband and I visited one evening and we were really impressed by the setting, extremely clean and child friendly with a huge garden area for play and an allotment to teach the children how to grow vegetables. We knew straight away that this was the right choice for us.
Louise allowed me to visit again during the day to help settle my son into the environment before leaving him on his own, watching how much the children were learning whilst having fun through themed activities and the patience and care shown by Louise and her staff was fantastic.
The children assist in preparing lunch each day too, often using vegetables picked from the garden which is great to encourage healthy eating from an early age. Although my son was too young to participate he loved watching the older children and was full of smiles, particularly after he later got to watch the children feeding the rabbits!
Louise is so lovely and makes my Husband and I feel completely at ease, her weekly activities for the children are well planned and sent out in advance along with a menu which is always healthy and varied. We are updated on our son's activities and progress through a daily diary and key achievements are recorded through Tapestry. I can't speak highly enough of Loobyloo's and enjoy seeing my son develop in their care.

Thank you so much Laura, its so lovely to hear from parents that we are doing a great job xxx
Louise and her small team of staff made our son extremely welcome into her fantastic new childminder setting. Louise kindly provided us a comprehensive on-site overview of her facilities and provided our son with a number of taster sessions to help familiarise him into his new setting.
We were impressed by Louise's outstanding Ofsted status and her commitment to a child's development through phonics and other learning resources. We particularly liked the closed group on Facebook that shows what the children have been up to, invaluable when asking what your son how his day has gone, as you have a heads up before you pick them up!
Louise also uses the increasingly popular 'Tapestety' application that allows a parent to view observations of their child as they develop, again very rewarding to see when you're not there to see it fir yourself.
Louise has great facilities with a huge garden, outdoor play and even animals that the children get to pet! Located to the north of Lincoln just off the bypass provides easy access for anyone working in the City it close by.
If you are looking for a care setting that has all the benefits of a professional nursery, e.g. structured learning, meal planning, staff uniforms etc, but also want a smaller, more focused environment for you child, then give LoobyLoos a try!

Thank you Steve for your great view xx
My son has been with Loobyloos for about 4 months, he started there when he was 9 months & loves it! I was anxious about starting back at work but Louise, Theresa and the other ladies have made me feel so relaxed in the fact that they take such good care of Spencer. We receive daily reports in his diary of the activities carries out that day & a list of the food he's had which is always so healthy.
I can't speak highly enough of the care Spencer receives & I wouldn't send him anywhere else. When he sees Theresa he puts his arms out and she cuddles him as if he were her own, which is so lovely to see. Thank you for everything you do :)

Thank you so much Hannah for your lovely review x
My son has been at Loobyloos since he was 3 months old... he's now approaching 2.
He's a confident little boy and mixes so nicely with children of all ages and adults, and I put that down to the lovely ladies who look after him while i'm at work.
It's often a battle getting him to leave in the evening because he loves it there so much :-)
We get regular updates on what he's up to and what's he's learned ... I love reading his daily "school report".
I couldn't recommend Loobyloos highly enough - if there were more than 5 stars I've had scored higher!
