Feeling very fortunate to have found Jill

My daughter, Esmé, has been in Jill’s care since December 2023, starting when she was just one year old. From the beginning, Jill has made the transition so easy and reassuring. She is incredibly kind, caring, and highly knowledgeable about child development. She stays up to date with the latest recommendations regarding children’s health and safety, which gives me real peace of mind.

One of the things I appreciate most is how well Jill communicates throughout the day. She keeps me updated on Esmé’s little adventures, what she’s been learning and playing, and even how well she has eaten. These updates made such a difference, especially when Esmé was so young, and continue to make me feel at ease knowing she is thriving and happy.

Jill has played a huge part in Esmé’s development and growth. She takes her out every day, giving her plenty of opportunities to interact with other children, which has helped her grow in confidence in social settings. Through carefully thought-out age-appropriate activities, Esmé learns not only about nature and the world around her but also emotional literacy and ways to express herself. Jill also encourages Esmé to develop independence – from putting on her own shoes and coat to counting numbers and learning the alphabet – all of which are building blocks that will help her thrive in reception. These experiences are shaping Esmé into a well-rounded little individual who I know will step into school with eagerness and confidence.

Esmé feels so comfortable in Jill’s care and truly enjoys her time there. She often talks fondly about her days and the fun she has with both Jill and her friends. It’s clear that Jill creates a nurturing, enriching space where children can flourish.

I feel very fortunate to have found Jill. She is highly trustworthy, goes above and beyond every day, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent looking for a childminder who combines professionalism with genuine warmth and care. Nicole Coppin

Caring, experienced, outdoorsy childminder

Jill is an expert childminder with such wealth of experience that is clear to see. she has helped our daughter gain so many skills (like helping getting dressed and putting her shoes on etc). Jill creates well thought out activities and themes over a number of days. They go out on trips daily which is great for my daughter who loves the outdoors.
Her style of childminding is Montessori - and therefore has really built our daughter's confidence to do things for herself.
We were gutted to leave Jill, I can't recommend her enough.

Fantastic, caring, top class childminder

Our younger daughter is now coming to the end of her time with Jill and starting school, having spent 3 years in her excellent care. Jill also looked after her big sister (see review from 2019). Again we have had a fantastic experience and our daughter has so enjoyed her time in Jill's home setting as well as many trips out and a variety of outdoor activities and playgroups. Jill is always coming up with creative ideas and ensures the children are well behaved as well as learning through play. Jill goes the extra mile to give outstanding care.
Even in covid times when settings were shut, Jill dropped off chalk and some toys for our girls to play with and drew them rainbows in the front garden 🌈
I highly recommend Jill and will miss seeing her each day.

great child minder

Jill has looked after our boy for the past three years and it has been absolutely amazing. She takes excellent care of the children, she cares a lot about their development and is always open to discuss and listen to parents. The children do a lot of activities that they would not experience in the ordinary nursery setting. Jill organises trips to forest, parks, museums play groups. The children are well rounded and independent individuals. We have been very happy with Jill’s care and very fortunate to find her.

Experienced and reliable, highly recommend!

Jill is a fantastic childminder and we feel very lucky that our daughter Jessica was able to spend 2 years in her care from the age of 1 to 3. She absolutely flourished in Jill's setting and as a new mum going back to work, knowing my daughter was being so well looked after and happy, really helped that transition.

Jill certainly goes the extra mile planning activities and days out with the children and makes special occasions all the more special, with many trips out, arts and crafts, stories and educational activities. My daughter loved the build up to Halloween and Christmas at Jill's particularly.

It is clear to see that Jill really cares about the children and they behave impeccably for her. This really helped us at home, for example from a very young age, Jill taught Jess how to put her shoes and coat on independently. Having a fussy eater was a challenge for us, but Jill really supported us through this.

We chatted regularly at pick up/drop off and the progress book that Jill painstakingly completed is such a special memento of Jessica's time there. She loves looking through it and proudly shows her grandparents what she had been doing.

My daughter only left recently due to a change in circumstances and our second baby's arrival. We look back at this time with great fondness and I cannot recommend Jill highly enough.

OUTSTANDING

Our son, has been with Jill since he was 12 months old and we cannot rate her highly enough. Jill has provided outstanding care and support, she is professional, flexible, caring and brilliant at what she does.

It was really important to us that our son spent time outside and this is something he has done regularly every week. They visit the forest, parks, soft play, locals farms, feed the ducks, go fruit picking, swimming and attend various toddler groups. Every day when we arrive at Jill’s our son cannot wait to go inside and see what she what toy stations and activities she has set out for the day ahead. The activities which she plans are both fun and educational.

Communication is very easy on a day to day basis and we regularly chat about his day and any issues or concerns at pick up/drop off. Jill also completes a photo progress book which is brilliant at updating us on his development but also shows his journey through the last 2.5 years and all the wonderful activities and festivities he has been able to take part in.

We were so lucky to have found Jill to look after our son, he has loved his time there and I am sure he will hugely miss Jill and her son (who he absolutely adores!). We are very sad to be leaving due to relocating, but we are so grateful for the amazing start he has been given.

Impeccable childcare in homely surroundings

I placed my 9 month old baby girl in Jill's care when I went to work and I was very nervous being a first time mum. The sign up and consultation to get to know my daughter was very professional and Jill makes a genuine effort to understand routines, from sleep to eating patterns and she sticks to it, making the transition from home to her care very easy. My daughter felt at ease with Jill immediately and was happy when I dropped her off and picked her up every day. Jill has an outstanding rating with offsted and ensures that the children's activities are in line with personal development, she feeds back progress thoroughly and regularly so that you know what they have been doing and how they have been getting on. The children have an action packed day full of activities, indoors and outdoors. My daughter was always handed back to me, clean, happy and she never ever had nappy rash in Jill's care.

Jill genuinely cares for the children, she is friendly and warm with them and she always celebrates birthdays and other traditional celebrations.

As Jill only had 2 days available I split the days between care with her and the other 2 days my daughter went to nursery. The difference in the quality of care between the 2 was highly noticeable and upsetting, I hated sending my daughter to nursery and often asked Jill for more of her time but unfortunately there never came a slot available and I can see why parents want to keep their children in her care.

The only reason we took our daughter out of Jill's care at 18months old was because we immigrated to another country but I hope that I can find someone that will care for our daughter so well, she set's the standard very high. Our daughter left with a book of all the progress she had made, beautifully presented with photographs and stories, Jill will be missed.

Consistent, outstanding service

My daughter Mia has been in Jill's care for the past 2.5 years (since she was 8 months old) and I have always been very impressed with her outstanding standard of care and professionalism.

Jill has provided a second home for Mia and I am very grateful for all the love and care she gave her during those early and very important years of her life.

Jill understands the struggle of parents returning to work and that understanding coupled with her excellent services have brought me some much needed peace of mind allowing me to concentrate on my work knowing that Mia was so well taken care of. Mia absolutely loves her.

Circumstances are such that I have had to make alternative arrangements although it was not an easy decision to make. I cannot praise enough her services and I would be very happy to speak to any parents.

** Fantastic childminder ** Highly recommended **

Jill offers a fantasting childminding service. Both my daughters went to Jill's and both loved their time with her; to the extend my youngest never wanted to leave and both girls would always ask on a daily basis if they could go to Jill's.
With Jill's knowledge and experience she was able to support and develop my daughters into two very independent and capable individuals. Due to Jill's background of being a Nursery Manager she was able to identify ares of development and then include these developments areas in her daily routine for them.
Jill offers a calm and safe environment for all children and taylor's her days to suit the children she has. Jill is dedicated and will do all she can to ensure your child has an enjoyable, fun time whilst learning. Jill offers various toys and games on a daily basis and visits local farms and children clubs. If you are anything like me, I was very particular when choosing a childminder for my girls and all I can say I was so pleased to have found Jill. I cannot recommend her enough.

Excellent Childminder

Jill has been caring for my daughter for 3 years since she was 1. Throughout this time Jill has provided outstanding care. She made a lot of effort to ensure Hannah settled well and provides excellent information on what they have done in the day and a record of Hannah's progress and activities.

Jill is very active with the children she minds and they take part in a lot of activities both in Jill's home and out and about, for example trips to the fire station.

Jill is very caring and supportive both to my daughter and us as parents. Her son is also very good with the children and my daughter adores him. Jill always welcomes me into her home to talk about Hannah's day and how she is getting on.

I would not hesitate to recommend Jill as an excellent childminder. I am currently expecting my second child and hope to be able to send her to Jill when then time comes.
