My Requirements

We need someone to pick-up Willa from her pre-school (Pelham Primary in Wimbledon) at 3:30pm from Monday to Thursday, and stay with her until 6pm. This would involve making her a warm supper at our home - a five minute walk from the school - and then either playing with her here or taking her for a little outing locally. Outside of term times (during holidays) we would also ideally like support for full days Monday to Thursday.

Willa is the most sparkly, fun-loving and affectionate little girl. She has a magnetic personality and brings joy whether she goes. Willa has Down Syndrome, which impacts all areas of her development, alongside a history of medical challenges (including epilepsy and dysphasia). Willa only began to walk this summer (aged 3.5) and is still unable to walk long distances, climb stairs nor jump. Willa is speaking in short sentences, and her vocabulary and clarity are improving each single day. Between using words, sign language (Makaton) and facial expressions, she is a fantastic communicator.

In many ways, Willa is the same as every other (nearly) 4 year old. She is finding her voice, pushing boundaries and wants to play, learn, make friends and feel loved. Willa, however, needs a little more patience and plenty of repetition to accomplish new skills, as well as more support physically to navigate the world. She is constantly exceeding our expectations & showing us what she is capable of.

Due to Willa’s disability and health vulnerabilities, our ideal nanny will have first-aid training as a must, and ideally have some experience working with children with special needs OR be open-minded and open-hearted to learning alongside Willa.
