Hi all! My name is Chloe I am 23 years old soon to be 24. I am passionate in my career supporting children and would love to help out supporting families that need that extra little help. I believe in building strong and healthy relationships with the children and building trust with yourself and the little ones! I am full of compassion , patience and nurturing behaviour to provide the best possible care. I currently work in a therapeutic home with children and young people which means we have a better understanding of how young people’s experiences affect them, considering their emotional needs and resilience. I am fun , creative and full of engagement to make my time effective with the children. My Experience
I currently work in a residential home supporting children and young people. I have 2 years experience with a wide range of children. Helping support with behaviour and trauma. Here is a couple of duties I do from day to day ;
Assisting with washing and dressing the child
Preparing their food and help them eat
Doing household tasks, such as shopping and laundry
Getting to know the children, their needs and interests
Monitoring their health and weight and recording any concerns
To work closely with children’s families, friends and significant others who are involved in their lives
Making sure they take prescribed medications
Supporting their mental and physical wellbeing through different activities
Working with other social care and health care professionals
Supporting challenging behaviour
To undertake the role of a key worker to an individual child, taking on responsibility for specific areas of care and support. To facilitate and support the child in decision making, promoting choice and involvement. This includes ensuring all medical and therapeutic needs are met and advocating and supporting the child to express their feelings, needs, wants / wishes.
I am currently completing a course for children and families which is a 18 month programme. I am aimed to be qualified by august.
I am also completing my Knowledge and core skills for being a nanny to then be Ofsted registered.
