Hello! I’m Kate — a friendly, reliable and experienced babysitter / tutor.
I’m a mum to a 20-year-old son who’s now at university, and I currently work as an SEN Keyworker in a secondary school. I also have extensive experience in primary education and supporting children with a range of additional needs.

My Experience
I have over 15 years of experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, ELSA and Tutor, working with children of all ages and abilities, including those with a wide range of SEN and behavioural needs.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported pupils in schools, children’s homes, and through one-to-one tutoring. I’ve also led art and gardening clubs, combining creativity and confidence-building with learning. I’m well known for my patience, calm approach and for helping children make real progress — particularly those who have struggled with reading and writing in school.
I believe every child is an individual with their own preferred way of learning. My role is to help each child discover what works for them, identify their barriers to learning, and gently guide them in overcoming these. I have experience supporting children with a variety of needs, including:

• Visual impairment
• ODD
• School avoidance
• Selective mutism
Alongside my professional background, I’m also a mum to a wonderful son and an aunt to four nieces and two nephews. I share my home with two dogs and two cats, so I’m very comfortable working in pet-friendly households.
I genuinely love working with children and bring a mix of warmth, fun, and clear, consistent boundaries to everything I do. I also speak conversational French and a little Dutch (formerly fluent).

My Qualifications
HLTA and ELSA, degree specialising in counselling fear and sadness, educational psychology, educational philosophy, Working Together with Children, Family Meanings.
BTEC HND and ND in design/art. Recent training in safeguarding children, food hygiene and handling, PREVENT. Previous training in lego therapy, first aid and many others.

Babysitting term-time and school holidays, private tutoring school holidays.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £11.00 per hour
Babysitting £11 an hour, £12 after midnight.
Nanny-ing £13.00 an hour (when children are awake)
Tutoring £15 an hour - minimum one hour
Due to my permanent role in a secondary school I'm available outside of school hours during term-time, more flexible in school holidays.
