About Me
Hello, I am Rebecca. I am an experienced primary teacher. I have been teaching in primary schools around Salford for 7years. I am recently qualified as specialist deaf teacher at Manchester University. I am a positive, enthusiastic teacher that loves to help and encourage others. I have taught an age range of children from y1 to y6. I am currently working in a 1/2 class and tutoring outside of school time.
My Experience
I have been a teacher for 7 years, working in one school for nearly 5 years. I completed my PGCE in Primary Teaching in 2016 and have never stopped. I have worked with a range of children from EAL to SEN and this has allowed me to have a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all my pupils. I am currently teaching in a mainstream school with a provision base for deaf children. Alongside that, I am currently tutoring children outside from school following the national curriculum.
I believe it is vital for children to have confidence and believe in themselves and their learning. I understand that children learn at different paces with preferred methods which I will adapt to in our sessions together. I believe in setting goals and challenges to motivate each child to try their best. My sessions will have a calm and friendly atmosphere where mistakes and questions are welcomed in our learning journey. Homework can be left after each session, if requested and a full briefing on what has been covered in the lesson will be available to parents/ careers once completed.
My Qualifications
I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Children and young People’s development (BA Hons). In 2016, I obtained a PCGE Primary Teaching degree. I am currently in the process of completing my third degree in becoming a specialist teacher in deaf education.
My Availability
I am open to availability. I am currently tutoring children nearby on Monday and Wednesday between 5-6pm. I am open to times before and after.
