About Me
My name is Prudence and I am a registered childminder living in Guildford, Shamley Green. I live with my husband (DBS Checked) and 2 daughters, an 8-year-old, and a 16-month-old. My home is a smoke-free environment.
I am an active outgoing person who loves cooking and cycling. I love making a difference in families and children's lives as I provide loving and supportive care. I believe children should not be afraid to express their feelings and my setting respects children's backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. I provide opportunities for child-led activities to build children's confidence and self-esteem. Children learn best when they are happy, healthy, and loved.
My curriculum is mainly based on the 7 Areas of Learning in the EYFS - Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Maths, Expressive Arts and Design, and Understanding the World. I also use the IB Transdisciplinary themes which are -Who we are, Where we are in place and time, How we organize ourselves, How we express ourselves, Sharing the planet, and How the world works.
Children in my setting will learn to respect themselves, others, and the world around them. I aim to develop learners to be Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective.
I work with an OFSTED-registered agency and hold an accredited Paediatric First Aid certificate. I plan activities around children's interests and needs.
