About Me

Hello everyone! I am an enthusiastic, bubbly 21 year old. I have a strong desire to learn and develop new skills. Over the last year i have been travelling whilst doing childcare, living in Australia and also in Italy. Honestly, some of the best experiences ever! I have an EFL qualification so am happy to help your kids with some English homework (if needs be haha)

The reason for my travelling (besides the overwhelming desire to go and explore) was due to me leaving university, I attended university studying midwifery where i learnt many valuable skills and supported with many amazing births but unfortunately decided that this was not the career path for me and left university beginning of my second year. I have always loved working with children and therefore went on to do au pairing/nannying and working within schools around the uk. Working within schools has helped widen my imagination when it comes to creating activities. This has been so useful when it has come to planning my days with my little people I'm working with to help develop many skills whether that’s educational, social or personal. I am confident working with all ages and have experience with children from 2 months old until 13years old.

Growing up and being the eldest of four children in my household i have loved being the eldest sister and would love to bring that energy to your family. If you have any questions or are keen for some extra info please do not hesitate to message. I look forward to hearing back from you!!

My Experience

I have been babysitting from a young age for family, friends and others. a few summers ago i had a wonderful opportunity to look after a teenage girl with severe and complex learning disabilities, i enjoyed this as it was an amazing learning opportunity and we both enjoyed our time with each other and it taught me many new ways to approach different situations in ways that could support someone more appropriately to meet their personal needs and to support them in the best possible way. After this summer I went on to work within a nursery. My roles included: Supporting the room lead with creating engaging, educational and enjoyable activities for the children to do, reading stories, drawing and colouring, playing outside and exploring the farm. I enjoyed practicing maths and literacy with the children and playing along with their games. During lunchtime i helped dish up their dinners ensuring i was aware of the children with intolerances, allergies or specific preferences. After lunch and throughout the day i cleaned up after the children and washed the dishes and any clothes etc that need putting in the washing machine. Toileting and nappies i support with throughout the day, changing nappies whenever they need doing or 4 times a day. I have been very lucky to have had this opportunity at this nursery as i gained so much experience working with 1-4 year olds in different room settings.

After this i Au paired for a family in Italy x3 over the past two years. The first time I went I looked after their daughter who was 7 years old, I got her ready in the morning, prepared breakfast, took her to school and after school clubs. We’d get home and I’d shower hee, pjs on and dinner. During the weekend I’d take her to birthday parties or to the beach. The second time I came 6 months later my main role was to care for her newborn brother, he was 2 months at the time. I would change him, care for him during the day (mum would feed him) and I’d get him down for his sleeps whilst supporting his older sister. I recently have just been with them this summer too, caring for both children now age 1.5 and turning 9. My roles included making breakfast/lunch and spending 5hrs per day with the children doing our day to day lives.

I spent 7 months in Australia caring for a 1.5 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. I would take them to school during school days but I would also care for them during the summer holidays (winter time for us) I had lots of fun with these kids and we went on many adventures together in my car, exploring the city and beach days!!

My Qualifications

I completed secondary school with good grades ranging from grade 4-7 and came out of college with a Level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma. I completed first aid during my midwifery course. I taught English in Italy and have got an EFL qualification and also a Teaching English to young learners qualification

My Availability

I would be available 4-5 days a week, I’d be open to evenings and weekends but that would be discussed :)

I would be more than happy to babysit if asked in advanced.
