About Me

Hi I am Laura I am 23 and I have 3 years of experience working with children in nurseries. Studying HNC Childhood Practice has given me huge knowledge of child development and the needs of children. Through my previous work role in a nursery, I worked with the children and their families to create goals in which support the children's learning, interests and personal development. I use my initiative and leadership skills to organise activities key for the children's progress.

My role also included caring for the child's personal hygiene such as changing nappies, clothing, applying first aid to injuries, giving medication with their parent's consent and in particular a child who has an EpiPen and medication in case they experience an allergic reaction in which I am trained to use. I also spent a period of time working in an additional support needs room with children with a variety of complex needs which increased my knowledge on children with disabilities.

I am currently in 1st year of paediatric nursing degree which means am developing my training in healthcare for children increasing my knowledge and experience working with children further. This will include paediatric cpr. I am very exciting to take on a new challenge. My availability may change due to university as I will be on placement from 20th of may but I will give plenty of notice of this.
