About Me
I am currently completing my PGCE in early years which will result in qualified teacher status by the summer. As I chose to qualify through the school based route, I am currently teaching a wonderful reception class. I have worked in a nursery for ages 0-5 over a span of two years whilst I completed my degree in biomedical science. I have an enhanced DBS, as well as a full peadiatric and adult first aid certification, with experience in hygiene e.g. nappy changing as well as settling to sleep etc. I have also been very involved in running imaginative and creative activities for ages 0-5. As well as the nursery, I have also worked at a SEND secondary school that specialises in severe learning disabilities and profound multiple learning disabilities. I have also babysat for multiple families around and after my degree, including both bedtime and all day childcare for groups of children, including weddings. I have a full driving licence, own car and business insurance so am able to drive the children if that is something that you would like to discuss.
My Experience
I have worked full time in a nursery for ages 0-5 for a number of months over the last two years and have worked as a teaching assistant at a local SEN school. I have been primarily based in the baby room within the nursery, working with children ages 0-2, however I have had an abundance of experience in all rooms. I have an enhanced DBS with experience in hygiene e.g. nappy changing as well as settling to sleep etc. as well as paediatric and adult first aid certification. I have also been very involved in running imaginative and creative activities for ages 0-5 and 11-18 SEND children. I have also been babysitting/ nannying in both a regular and casual capacity around my degree. I have been involved in school drop off and collection, overnight stays, all day babysitting of up to 4 children, as well as a full time short-term nanny position for a little one with ASD. Since beginning at-home childcare, I have had the privilege of working with several SEND children on a weekly basis.
My Qualifications
I do not have any childcare qualifications as of yet as I hope to achieve my PGCE and QTS for a career in early years by the end of the academic year. However, I do have experience as a student teacher in a reception class, nursery experience for ages 0-5 and babysitting/ nanny experience up to age 9, as well as teaching assistant experience for SEND children ages 11-18.

We had a wonderful experience with Riva this Saturday. She was incredibly kind and caring from the moment she arrived. My son usually gets quite upset when meeting new people, but he connected with her right away—something that rarely happens! She was gentle, engaging, and played with him so beautifully. It was clear she made him feel safe and happy, which gave me great peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving babysitter.

It's hard finding a suitable babysitter when you have 2 children with ASD. Finding Riva is like finding a unicorn! Riva is brilliant! She's already had previously babysat for a child with similar needs to my children. She gets on great with them! She's also lovely enough to help me with the ironing while the boys sleep. I highly recommend her!

Riva recently looked after my 10 month old daughter. She took her out to the park to go on the swings and even introduced foods to her that I am anxious about giving her but it has made me want to try these with her more after her reassurance :) she updated me often to say how my daughter was and is just generally a lovely woman. I definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a babysitter :))
