I understand that every child is unique. My role is to understand how your child learns best, identify the barriers that may be affecting their progress and use the right strategies to help them move forward.

SPECIALIST SEN EXPERIENCE
Autism - I provide calm, structured and predictable learning experiences tailored to the individual child. I can use visual resources, clear instructions, consistent routines, repetition and motivating activities to support understanding and engagement. I also recognise the importance of a child's individual interests and strengths and use these wherever possible to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. Support can focus on academic development alongside communication, attention, independence, confidence and engagement with learning.

Dyslexia - I provide structured support for children experiencing difficulties with phonics, reading, spelling, comprehension, vocabulary and written language. I break learning down into manageable steps and use repetition, multi-sensory approaches and carefully selected resources to help children develop their skills and confidence. My approach focuses on helping children recognise their strengths and understand that dyslexia does not define their ability or limit their potential.

ADHD - I understand that children with ADHD may experience difficulties with attention, concentration, working memory, organisation and maintaining focus. I adapt sessions to make learning engaging and achievable, using appropriately paced activities, clear expectations, visual prompts, movement breaks where beneficial and positive reinforcement. I focus on a child's strengths and interests, helping them develop strategies that support focus, organisation, independence and confidence.

Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
DLD can affect a child's ability to understand and use language, which can have a significant impact on learning and classroom participation. I adapt my teaching by using clear and concise instructions, modelling, repetition, visual support, vocabulary development and structured opportunities to practise language. I can also support literacy and comprehension where these areas are affected by language difficulties.

Speech & Language Delay - I provide a patient, supportive environment where children are given the time and encouragement they need to communicate. Through stories, conversation, vocabulary activities, questioning, sequencing and child-led learning, I can support the development of communication and language skills within an educational setting. My role is educational rather than clinical, and I can work alongside recommendations provided by qualified speech and language professionals where appropriate.

CHILD-CENTRED & PERSONALISED
I firmly believe that children learn best when they feel understood, valued and successful. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every child I teach receives tuition adapted to their individual starting point, learning profile, strengths, interests and goals. I strongly believe in child-led learning, using activities and interests that naturally motivate the child while ensuring that every session has clear educational objectives. My lessons are supportive, engaging and appropriately challenging. I want children to finish their sessions feeling: “I can do this.” Because when a child begins to believe in themselves, their approach to learning can change dramatically.

SUPPORT FOR UNDERACHIEVING CHILDREN
If your child is capable of more but is currently struggling to achieve their potential, I provide targeted 1-to-1 intervention designed to identify learning gaps, strengthen core skills and rebuild confidence. I look beyond a child's current attainment to understand why they may be struggling. Together, we can work on the areas holding them back and develop the skills, strategies and confidence they need to progress.

11+ & GRAMMAR SCHOOL PREPARATION
Alongside my SEN expertise, I provide specialist 11+ preparation for children aiming for grammar school entry. Preparation can include:

I don't believe a diagnosis, test score or current attainment level should define what a child can achieve. I see the potential first. I identify the barriers, build on strengths and adapt my teaching to give each child the opportunity to succeed. My approach combines experience, compassion, high expectations and personalised teaching to help children make meaningful progress while developing the confidence and independence they need for the future.

Home Tuition Travel Fee
£5 - £10 per visit

A travel fee is added to each home tuition visit to cover travel to and from the child's home. I travel all across Birmingham, Redditch and Bromsgrove.
