About Me
Hello, I'm a 20-year-old currently on a gap year before university and I'm hoping to gain experience working with children in tutoring, especially in English literature and language. I'm creative, patient and enthusiastic about helping kids achieve their potential — I believe I'll be learning just as much from them as they will from me!
My Experience
I have experience tutoring at GCSE level and below and have work experience as a teaching assistant in primary school settings, where I ran writing workshops with advanced pupils. My studies have often focused on language development in children so I have a good foundation in understanding how to help children progress in ways that also engage them in their own learning. I also have experience with tutoring bilingual children and children with SEND.
I tutor mostly in:
- reading and comprehension
- spelling, punctuation and grammar
- early-level (year 1-year 6) maths
In addition to tutoring, I have been babysitting children between four and nine.
My Qualifications
From Altrincham Grammar School for Girls:
- A*s in English Literature and in English Language at A Level
- 9s (A*) in English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, History, French, Religous Studies, and Sciences at GCSE.
I have vast experience and skill in writing in both academic and creative contexts, and have had my work win essay competitions and be published in newspapers.
My Availability
I can be flexible with timings for tutoring but I prefer afternoons or early evenings. As I have upcoming exams and am also working overseas for the summer, I will not be available after the end of April.
