About Me

I’m often described as helpful, reliable , funny and caring. From a very young age I’ve always been very passionate about looking after children and protecting their well-being, now that I have a very flexible time schedule I am highly passionate about taking on a live in nanny role as I have enjoyed my experience of nannying so far. I enjoy reading, very passionate about film and television and I like to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle whilst keeping a positive environment.

My Experience

My experience of babysitting and looking after children started around 2019 when I started looking after some family member’s younger children whenever we visited them during the school holidays. I have benefited from babysitting and caring for younger family members by experiencing situations such as looking after a child with allergies and knowing how to manage that in the safest way possible. Additionally I have also had personal experience with a family member who has Down’s syndrome. l have also assisted my friend with babysitting her nieces and nephews after school till late evening which helped me develop my team working skills and learning how to look after kids with another individual . Additionally I have babysat for some family friends who live close by who have needed some child care on an emergency basis. For example I nannied 3 young boys whom I prepared meals for such as lunch and dinner. I made a priority for those meals to be nutritional by using knowledge from my educational background of 4 years of food tech, 2 years of child development and 2 years of health and social care. Over the past couple years I haven’t been able to babysit as much due to A levels and studying health and social care at level 3 however by focusing on my education it has gained me a DBS certification and a valid First Aid certificate. My A levels in Health & social care have thoroughly informed me on how to correctly safeguard a child and also how to recognise and manage changes in children’s behaviour additionally those with learning difficulties and disabilities. In addition to those A levels I studied child development and have received qualifications for that subject as well. However I plan on continuing my work on a more full time and long term basis as a live-in nanny. My professional work experience consists of college work placements which involved working at a nursery with children aged 1 to 4. Whilst I was at the nursery I worked as a nursery assistant specialising in the babies (1-2.5) area which consisted of me having to plan and carry out activities such as painting and assisting them with their lunch and with some having to feed them as they were not capable of feeding themselves. During my time at the nursery I also learnt how to conduct nap time with 3-4 babies. The year before that I also completed work placement at a primary school which consisted of me taking on the role of teacher assistant for a class of 6 and 7 year olds. During this placement I had to carry out roles such as supporting the teacher with tasks such as working one to one with children who needed more support.
