About Me
Hi, I'm Cindy! I tutor KS3, GCSE, and A-Level English. I tutor students in person or online. Please ask to see my Enhanced DBS.
I use my expertise in English, as well as my knowledge of the curriculum, to observe and discern level and ability in order to encourage growth. On a personal front, I’m an advocate for trauma-informed teaching practices. I take a caring approach and ensure that my students feel seen, heard, and supported.

2:1 Degree in English
My 2:1 degree in English Literature has given me the expertise to tutor students at earlier stages of study.
Exam Board Knowledge
I have studied all 4 exam boards offered to students in England (inc. AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and WJEC) to give me a more detailed grasp on what's expected of students in the present day. I utilise exam board research extensively throughout tutoring.
Experience with GCSE & A-Level students
I have direct experience tutoring students at this level. My students are always eager, engaged, and happy in my care. They grow personally as well as academically. I have also mentored students aged 16-19 on school, university life, and future prospects and pathways. These conversations are always welcome as part of my service.
Experience in schools
I have guided and assisted young people in schools where students have on occasion been awarded for academic progress. My students would await our next meeting with excitement, and I was asked to stay on further! No matter their age, my students are always acknowledged as the talented and capable individual they are.
Trauma-informed
I'm a strong advocate for trauma-informed teaching practices. This means creating a safe space for children and young people to express their obstacles with English without encountering shame, severity, or punishment. My methods include a focus on positive reinforcement, as this is essential in progressing in academia and beyond.

My Qualifications
BA (Hons) English Literature (2:1) and English A-Level and GCSE qualifications. Introductory Safeguarding in Education 2025/2026 and Prevent Awareness Course (2025).
