About Me
I am bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish. I have been a primary school teacher (primarily in the Early Years) for 23 years and am currently a Governess in a private household. I am positive, energetic, reliable and trustworthy. I am extremely patient and have vast experience of children's physical, social, intellectual and emotional development. I am calm under pressure and able to use my own initiative. Everyone I have worked with describes me as creative, fun and passionate about what I do!
My Experience
I have experience of working with children from the age of 2 to 13. My area of expertise is in early years and special educational needs. I have worked in classrooms, private households and have worked with children abroad. As a primary school teacher I taught all subjects (including Spanish) and have offered after school clubs (particularly music which I love) and worked alongside parents to support their children's learning. As a Governess I take care of everything academic relating to the children in my care. This includes liaising with their teachers, attending parent evenings and ensuring i am tailoring my teaching to support and extend what they are learning at school. I also look after their physical and emotional wellbeing. I take them on outings, we engage in craft activities, baking, museum and theatre visits, walks in nature and I also support them at meal times and I take care of their bed time routine. I am able to send my full CV and references if needed.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in primary education (including Early Years), an Advanced Diploma in Special Educational Needs and a Masters in Education. I have also obtained signing certificates to aid children's learning and have pianoforte and music theory qualifications.
My Availability
I am very flexible and can tailor my hours around what is needed.
