My Summary
About Me
Recently graded ‘outstanding’ April 2025.
My name is Grace Garrett and I live in Wollaton, Nottingham. I live with my husband and 2 children who are 6 and 3. As a family we love spending time outdoors, exploring nature in all weathers and spending quality time being creative together. I have been a teacher in the early years for 10 years and an early years leader in both primary schools and nursery schools for over 7 years. I am passionate about children's early development and using many aspects of Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches to learning. I have a deep understanding of children's development and how they learn, providing new and exciting resources and play opportunities regularly. My home from home setting offers open ended, explorative and creative play which is constantly evolving to respond to the children's interests. My house is semi detached and the downstairs is open plan throughout the living room, kitchen diner and dedicated play space. We have a safe enclosed garden with play equipment a mud kitchen, sand and water play.
We go on lots of adventures in the local area including Harrison’s plantation, Martin’s pond, Wollaton park, the library, the woods for forest school activities and playgroups.
I love to cook and enjoy offering a healthy varied diet to my own children. Included in a full day of care will be breakfast, 2 snacks, lunch (hot or cold) and a home cooked tea. All menus will be shared with parents and allergies catered for.
I offer tax free childcare and free hours for 2,3,4 year olds. Please note that a top up fee will be required for the food and other consumables as this is not included in the government's funding.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Grace. She is truly child-centred and provides exceptional care for our daughter in her warm, welcoming home. Grace puts so much thought and love into creating fun, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. She prioritises outdoor time as much as possible and runs forest school which our daughter adores.
Our daughter is very happy, settled, and excited to be there, which speaks volumes about the safe and nurturing environment Grace, and her assistants, provide. She is a fantastic role model — kind, patient, and genuinely invested in each child’s development and wellbeing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Grace to anyone.

Our children have been going to Grace's since she opened and we couldn't recommend her highly enough. Grace has created a brilliant home from home setting which our girls absolutely love going to. Grace is super reliable, really positive and so creative with the activities she comes up with for the children. They go out and about a lot making the most of local playgrounds and woods and also spend lots of time in the garden. They also go to local playgroups and spend time with other childminders so the children get to interact with lots of other kids. Grace keeps us up to date with what is going on, we get daily updates and lots of nice photos. Our kids are super happy with Grace and her assistant, Chloe, and we would strongly recommend her to anyone looking for childcare.

We’ve been with Grace from when she opened her business and my daughter was 8 months old and I could not recommend her enough. She has been amazing (and her assistants) the entire time and my daughter has absolutely thrived since being there. I always feel like I’m fully in the loop of what’s going on with all aspects and I’ve never had any issues. She goes above and beyond and I feel like I couldn’t have picked for someone better to look after my child and encourage her to be the best little person she could be! If I could have my daughter there for school years I would! The best 🤗
