About Me
I am a highly experienced SEN teacher and school leader with extensive experience working with children and young people on the autism spectrum. I have set up and lead 2 autism units, and I have a masters degree in autism. I am now working as an autism consultant to support school staff and parents/carers. I have an excellent record for improving attainment and achievement through outstanding individualised teaching.
My Experience
My specialism is working with children and young people on the autism spectrum. I have set up 2 autism units and have an excellent record of outstanding teaching in all areas of the primary curriculum, particularly teaching phonics, reading, writing and maths.
I have also worked as head of key stage 3 in a special school for moderate learning difficulties and have taught GCSE maths and French.
Having focused my masters degree research on teaching young people with autism about their diagnosis, I have adapted the “All About Me” programme and have successfully taught many groups of children about helping them understand their own autism in order to help with independence, improved self -esteem and self-advocacy skills.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelor of Education from McGill University and a Masters of Education in autism from the University of Birmingham. I have QTS and I have completed a leadership course from the National College. I am a qualified yoga teacher, and have completed a course on teaching yoga to children.
