My Summary
Montessori Educator: Tutor, Homeschool Teacher, Parent Consultant Helping Children Build Confidence
About Me
I’m a passionate Montessori educator of nearly 20 years and a co-director of Molly Montessori Home Ed, a warm homeschool community for 5 to 11 year olds that runs three days a week with up to 12 children per daily session. I teach, serve as a parent liaison, and also offer one-to-one tutoring at your home. Tutoring is open to all families and is always Montessori-based. It can sit happily alongside whatever your child is doing at a mainstream/independent school or in home education.
Sessions are calm, practical, and hands-on, so ideas make sense in the child’s hands before they meet them on paper. In English, we trace textured letters to link sound and symbol, build words with moveable alphabets from simple three-letter words into longer patterns, and use clear, visual activities to make grammar click. In maths we make place value real with golden beads and tiles, then use the stamp game to move towards written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Grammar boxes and similar activities help children see how words work together. Everything is designed to be touched, moved, and understood, which is especially helpful for children who missed key steps during COVID.
Over the past year, my tutoring has naturally welcomed more children with additional needs. Independence sits at the heart of this work, so we weave in everyday living skills such as pouring, transferring, threading, and sequencing, alongside fine-motor development and language. I am not a specialist; I take a small number of learners case by case, keep my scope honest, and work closely with families to make sure the fit feels right.
Recent rewarding moments include an older child with autism moving from recognising numbers to five and a handful of sounds to recalling 1–10 and reading many three-letter words within four sessions, and a lively younger child using favourite animals and characters to teach back her learning with focus and pride. A six-year-old who began with no letter-sound knowledge is now reading four-letter words and beyond. A 10-year-old with dyslexia who once avoided books and said she could not read now loves reading, tackles challenging texts, and even helps younger children.
My Experience
I worked at Rose House Montessori from 2007 to 2023, starting as a student and progressing to teacher, lead teacher, Head of Early Years/Children’s House, and in 2022 Director of Education for children aged 2 to 11. During that time the school featured several times in Montessori Centre International publications, and when it closed many families chose to continue with home education, which I have supported since.
Today I divide my time between Molly Montessori Home Ed and one-to-one tutoring, planning individualised lessons that balance core skills with independence, concentration, and enjoyment. I mainly support ages 5 to 11, with particular expertise in 3 to 8/9, and can cover selected Year 5 and Year 6 concepts. If something sits outside my scope, I will say so and suggest good alternatives.
Communication with families is simple and transparent through my parent app. You receive observations with photos of your child’s work and materials where you give consent, a clear curriculum view that shows progress, and periodic reports mapped to the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage so you can see what is secure, what is emerging, and what we will focus on next.
Alongside teaching, I offer supportive programmes for children and parents, including Reception Ready, Maths & English Confidence, 4+ Exam Excellence, School Interview Success, Coaching & Milestone Tracking for Parents & Nannies, Montessori Parenting Coaching, Parenting SOS, The Home Learning Guide, and The Prepared Home. Across everything I do the aim is the same: help each child feel seen, capable, and curious, and help families feel confident guiding the next step.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £45.00 per hour
My fees reflect the personalised, high-quality education I offer, grounded in nearly 20 years of Montessori-based experience and supported by my Master’s degree in Education. I specialise in one-to-one tutoring that is tailored to meet each child’s unique learning needs, whether they are building foundational skills in Maths and English or require additional support to boost their confidence and academic success.
By using proven Montessori methods, I focus on practical, hands-on learning that encourages independence, curiosity, and problem-solving. This individualised approach ensures that your child progresses at their own pace and develops a lifelong love for learning. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with children who have special educational needs (SEN), adapting each session to help them thrive.
My current rate is £45 for a trial session. Ongoing sessions start from £55 per hour, with pricing dependent on the number of sessions purchased. This reflects my advanced qualifications, including a Master’s in Education, and my commitment to personalised, high-quality support. I tutor across London and have worked with families in South East, South West, West, and North London. I can travel to different locations; fees may vary depending on distance from SE19. Cala provided tutoring sessions for our summer born, 4 year old, to help him keep up with phonics at school. She was patient, kind and warm with him.
She tailored the activities to support his learning, gave us weekly learning reports and provided great ideas on how to continue the learning in between sessions.

It was a pleasure supporting your child, and I truly appreciate you and your family for welcoming me into your home. It was lovely to watch him grow in confidence with his learning, and he even inspired me to be more creative in my approach. Thank you for your kind words!
