About Me
Hello, I am Kim.
I am fully Ofsted registered childminder based in Raunds.
I have three children of my own aged ten, seven and two, I also have a small dog and cat.
I enjoy going for walks in the national parks, canoeing and spending time with my family.
My home is situated across the road from a stunning growing nature reserve, we get lots of new and exciting creatures over there and it is perfect to safely explore. We have lots of uncommon birds and little animals I enjoy to see with the children.
I was a forces wife (not married) So I understand children who are separated from their loved one, I also understand the stress this has on family life. If you have a blue light card for working in any of our services, please show me along with ID and a reduction will be added for every full day they are in my care.
My garden has swings and slides for all ages, a mud kitchen, sand pit and a large black bored. In the summer we are building a huge water play wall for the children to enjoy. We also have a large planter that we grow our veg and other pots for strawberries, blue berries, apple tree and a pear tree. I have real grass and a separate area paved for wet days and the winter months.
I love singing and dancing with the children and most of all reading exciting stories. All my books have meaningful life lessons and conversation starters in them. I like to answer questions and ask questions during the book to children. This helps them to understand, focus, listen and learn. All my toys are wooden and in very good condition. Some of the learning toys are plastic but that is due to them containing magnets.
All my car seats are checked and are age appropriate, most impotently they are in date as they expire over time.
I provide a healthy snack daily along with water or milk. I allow the children (age depending) to prepare their snack and promote their independence throughout the day.
I also provide tooth brushes and tooth paste for early starting children of all ages.
My Experience
I have over 10 years experience working with children of all ages. I was a foster carer, senior supporting foster carer, nursery nurse, senior nursery nurse, SENCO, Safeguarding lead then eventually deputy manager in a nursery. I then had my little girl and decided I would like to work from home and be my own boss and actually spend time with the children, not filling in pointless paperwork all day.
I have experience with children with additional needs, looked after children and children who are overachieving (gifted). It can be hard for someone without this experience to set goals or find ways to support children, but due to me having training and a outstanding understanding of the EYFS, this helps hugely. I completed my Level 3 at college and it was a very long in depth course taking 18 months. After that my career experience gave me more in-depth knowledge. All my qualifications can be see upon request.
I have a clean up to date DBS and driving licence.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Childminding from £6.20 per hour
I do hour rate or half and full day rates. I work 8am until 5pm extra hours are charged at £8 Please check with me first as my hours could flex for Blue light card holders. (ID will be asked for along with your card)
My charge covers snack, toothbrushes, toothpaste, breakfast, trips, playgroups, resources, new toys, art&crafts.
For over 8s I charge £4ph during the holidays with a £5 daily charge of the above resources. I work all year around apart from 2 weeks at Christmas.
