My Summary

My Experience

Working within my local nursery has allowed me to extend my knowledge surrounding childcare as well as complete a paediatric first aid course. I worked with children from the ages of 6 months to 4 years providing me with a vast amount of experience for all different stages of development. During this position I supplied the children with fundamental activities and care to excel their personal development and wellbeing. Some of the responsibilities i had during this time included:
• Assisting In all 3 rooms the nursery provided (0-2, 2-3, and 3-4) with differing schedules.
• Managing a smaller group of children in activities such as reading, crafts and motor skills.
• Ensured each child was provided with quality care to ensure their personal development is met as well as reporting any concerns.
• Assisting in taking smaller groups of children out of the nursery setting on nature walks.
I previously also worked as a gymnastics coach where I was responsible for a group of children to assist them and enable them to progress their gymnastics and ninja skills. I grew tremendously whilst working there building on and gaining skills every day. One of these includes becoming first aid trained in paediatrics, this course allowed me to gain a wider range of knowledge on how to cope/treat people in need and understand basic care needs.

In May 2019, I transitioned into the nursery within Gymfinitiy Kids where I was able to progress my skills that I gained in my work experience into practice. Within the nursery I would provide activities to take part in with the children that encouraged their fundamental skills to grow, ensuring there was a mixture or motor skills activities, sensory play and problem solving for the children to explore. I also assisted in getting the children to sleep for their scheduled naps. During the day the team would take the children to the park allowing them to explore the outside world further.

I have also got experience with working with children with additional needs such as autism, deafness, and ADHD.

If my own car is needed for transportation of children fuel prices to be reimbursed.
