Rachael was great the one night she turned up. She was due to do two consecutive evenings and cancelled the second 4 hours before she was scheduled to arrive which left us in a difficult position. She said she had started to feel unwell and so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and scheduled three nights ten days later. The night before she was due to come to us she sent me an invoice for the one night of work she had carried out, which I immediately paid. When I text confirming payment and asking to confirm times for the next three days I received no response. I text again the following morning and called to no response. It was only when I text again to say I would have to find alternative cover if I didn’t get a response she responded saying she had a family emergency. Finding trustworthy people with young babies is no easy feat and while I do not question Rachael’s abilities with children, her manner of operating and the bind she left us in, twice, was incredibly disruptive and unprofessional.

I am shocked to find this review here, Natasha has my phone number to speak directly with me and the last communication we had by phone text expressed no indication of her being upset - things appeared harmonious and her reply was that she understood my emergency situation. prior to that last text message I kindly sent her helpful links and advice from her questions regarding her situation with her little one as I sincerely wanted to help resolve things for her regarding help with her little one.

My intention is not to create a tit for tat type of ongoing situation in my reply here that would therefore only fuel matters, but instead to try and sincerely state the facts in accurate sequence.

Using derogatory / slanderous comments such as ‘ Flaky ' in a “ review “ isn’t at all professional, indeed poor manners and very importantly untrue about me.

I unfortunately had a family emergency which turned our immediate lives upside down and quite rightly I held that as my first priority to deal with - as most people would do. I told Natasha regarding myself not being able to work due my emergency as soon as I was able to do so. Natasha acknowledged my situation as mentioned above.

I find it very hard to comprehend that someone is unable to empathise regarding such emergencies that need immediate attention, but worse still has chosen to lash out and covertly attack me here as a possible disbelief in my situation, which is clearly an attempt to try and destroy my good reputation in a public arena.

As soon as I saw Natasha’s comments and statements posted here I directly reached out to her as I wanted to try and communicate rationally with her so as to understand what was wrong exactly and therefore perhaps resolve things. Natasha could have communicated back to me so as to resolve things to a more harmonious state, but she chose not to.

To be clear I was initially booked for two nights to work for Natasha. I worked the one night Sat: 27/04 for 15 hours through the night to the next morning, the night was successful / we had a good result towards what our goal was for me being there and I was looking forward to seeing them again on the Sunday evening. Unfortunately I started to feel unwell whilst at home on the Sunday and I let Natasha know asap around 1.30pm, which was actually an hour and a half from when I returned home.

I never attend work feeling unwell, this is a firm policy for the good of my own health and very importantly the health of the babies, children and families I care for. To stay in isolation so as to get fully well is quite honestly the correct action to take when one is sick with contagious germs so as to limit the process of spreading those germs - common sense.

When I arrived to work for Natasha on the Sat: 24/04, I noticed Natasha’s little boy was unfortunately not 100% well, perhaps at the beginning and or tail end of a cough and cold; when I asked, Natasha stated to me that he had been unwell with a cough and cold. I would also like to add here that I asked Natasha when I very first spoke with her if her little boy was all well prior to myself arriving / arranging my nights of work with her and she confirmed he was all well. Quite honestly It would have been helpful for Natasha to have let me know that her little boy was still recovering from being unwell, because if she had done, I would have rescheduled for another time and more than likely, none of this would have happened.

My intentions are to always have harmonious working relationships with all the Mummy’s and families I work for. In my experience communication is the key to understanding and from my professional observation Natasha has failed in that area with me on a number of points mentioned here.

No one can plan for life's emergencies, the timing of them and the actions we have to take to handle them can be disruptive, yet they must be dealt with and one would hope to have some understanding from others rather than having to deal with unpleasant comments on top of already dealing with an emergency.

Rachael is very experienced with childcare and a lovely person too. I was very impressed with her dedication - she is organised and flexible to adapt to your needs. What was important to me is someone listening and helping with what I needed at the time. Rachael did that brilliantly!
