About Me
My name is Shannon and I run a warm, welcoming, home-from-home childminding service in the Douglas area of Dundee. I live with my husband and our two lovely daughters, Daisy Belle and Blossom Ren, who enjoy being part of a busy, caring family environment. I believe this helps children settle quickly and feel comfortable, safe, and included.
As a mum myself, I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident and reassured when leaving their children in someone else’s care. I work closely with families to follow each child’s individual routines and needs. My service is based around nurturing, play-based learning, fun activities, and outdoor play, supporting children’s development in a relaxed and caring setting. I aim to build positive, trusting relationships with both children and parents, ensuring everyone feels supported, valued, and happy while in my care.
My Experience
I am a Care Inspectorate registered childminder and a proud mum of two. I understand how hard it can be to leave your children in someone else’s care — those worries are completely natural — which is why I focus on providing a warm, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, loved, and happy. Our days are filled with fun, learning, and plenty of cuddles, while always supporting each child’s individual needs. Alongside my childminding experience, I have studied Adult Nursing and Pharmacy, giving me a strong background in health, wellbeing, and safe care. My aim is for both children and parents to feel relaxed, confident, and at ease from the very start.
My Qualifications
I have completed a range of training to make sure the children in my care are safe, healthy, and well supported. This includes:
• Advanced Child Protection Awareness
• Child Protection
• First Aid
• Infection Control
• Allergen Awareness
• Food Safety, Hygiene & Nutrition
• GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child)
• Introduction to Childminding
• Epilepsy Awareness
These courses help me provide a safe, nurturing, and confident environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun — and where parents can feel reassured that their little ones are in good hands.
My Availability
Blossoming Daisies is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, but I know life doesn’t always fit neatly into those times! I’m more than happy to chat about earlier starts, later finishes, or any flexible arrangements that might help your family. If you have any questions or special requests, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — I’ll always do my very best to make things work and to make your child feel happy, safe, and at home.
Our days are full of fun, play, and learning! From creative crafts and messy play to stories, songs, and outdoor adventures, every child follows their own routine and feels included. I focus on helping children explore, make friends, and feel happy, while providing a safe, nurturing, home-from-home environment.
