Hi,
I am based in Slough and can offer babysitting/childcare services both in and around the Slough area. I am an occupational therapist currently working in adult mental health. Previously I have worked as an occupational therapy assistant in a school for children with special needs. This consisted of 1-1 therapy sessions working on fine and gross motor skills, addressing sensory needs, handwriting and other occupational needs. I also have experience working as a support worker with adolescents with mental health difficulties.
I also have direct experience with helping care for children in my own family. As an Aunty of 6 Nieces and Nephews I have experience taking care of children from the early new born stages up until the ages of 10.
I am hardworking and reliable. My healthcare experience allows me to work flexibly and apply my skills in different settings. I am caring and able to engage with individuals of all different ages.
I have various training including basic life support, manual handling and other essential trainings.
My Experience
I have experience working as a support worker for adolescents with mental health difficulties. This consists of providing 1-1 support, engaging patients in therapy, school and activities. It also consisted of responding to emergency situations and following hospital guidelines.
I also worked as an Occupational therapy assistant for children with special needs in a primary school. This consisted of doing both group and 1-1 therapy sessions addressing any fine/gross motor skills, sensory needs, handwriting and other occupational goals. It also consisted of ensuring children had the adaptive equipment to ensure independence and safe function in the school environment. I worked closely with teachers, speech and language therapist and physiotherapist to ensure the best outcome for children.
After completing my Masters in Occupational Therapy, I am currently working as a qualified Occupational Therapist in Adult mental health. This consist of completing occupational therapy assessments, working on therapeutically engaging patients and facilitating safe and appropriate discharges.
