I am a highly competent au-pair and childminder, who loves working with children of all ages.
I am 29 years old and from South Africa. I came to the UK to pursue and have recently completed my graduate studies at Cambridge University. I am taking a year off to spend childminding before entering the job market.
I am looking for part-time nannying and au-pairing jobs in central London which is where I am currently based.
I am happy to feed and care for younger children. I am also willing to pick up older children from school, walk them to and from extra-curricular activities, and provide homework-help. I have extensive childcare and tutoring experience.
My Experience
I have been working with children since I was in high-school. During my studies in South Africa and the UK, I have worked as a nanny, au-pair, literacy instructor and tutor to children between the ages of 5 and 15.
My home language is English, but I have cared for children from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I have also cared for special needs children (including those with behavioural and learning difficulties).
I have personally run learning/outreach projects with groups of up to 30 primary school children. In addition, I have given master-classes to high school children through the University of Cambridge, where I am still employed as a student ambassador.
My Qualifications
I have a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge. I completed my BA(Hons) in English Literature, International Relations, and Media Studies from Rhodes University in South Africa.
My Availability
I have a flexible schedule. I am available 8-6.30 on weekdays and some weekday evenings. Occasional weekend care can also be negotiated.
