A Happy Toddler, Muddy Wellies & Storytime — Kind, Part-Time Nanny Wanted, 3 Days P/Week
About Me
We are a friendly and loving family based in Blackdown, living in a country home with our beautiful 26-month-old toddler
My Requirements
We’re a warm, down-to-earth married couple living in a beautiful country home with our 26-month-old boy, two friendly dogs and two self-important cats.
We’re looking for an experienced, caring, gentle and fun nanny to look after our little boy around 3 days per week (flexible days, ideally not Fridays), with the occasional optional weekend afternoon or evening.
Our current wonderful nanny, who has been with us since our son was 9 months old, is about to start her own adventure into motherhood — so we are now looking for someone equally special to step into a much-loved role.
Our home is busy, relaxed and full of laughter: The kind where muddy wellies live by the door, piles of books are read on the sofa, and snacks sometimes happen in dens built from cushions.
We both run busy businesses, but family life matters hugely to us, and we make a real effort to look after the person who looks after our son. We believe in clear communication, mutual respect, and going the extra mile to show appreciation — whether that’s flexibility where possible, thoughtful gestures, or simply making sure you feel valued in your work.
Our son is affectionate, cheeky, curious and full of adventure. He loves being outside, animals, exploring, imaginative play, music (especially dancing!), and stories — and thrives with someone who joins in, notices the little things, and follows his interests rather than rushing him along.
The right person for our family will be:
- Kind, warm and naturally engaging
- Energetic but calm in approach
- Aligned with a gentle but consistent approach to boundaries
- Attentive and thoughtful (the small details matter to us)
- Flexible and reliable
- Happy around animals
- Happy to keep on top of child-related tidying during nap time
- Confident planning age-appropriate activities and outings (driving essential)
- Knowledge of EYFS is a bonus
This is a live-out role where you’ll be trusted, respected and genuinely appreciated. You’ll often have the house and farm to yourself — and free rein over the Alexa (just note our boy knows how to request Tractor Ted songs!).
We want someone who feels comfortable in our home and who our son feels safe, relaxed and joyful with — not just to be childcare, but to build a long-term, meaningful bond.
If you’re the sort of person who chats to toddlers like they’re important little people, notices when an energetic game is about to become a meltdown, and doesn’t mind the occasional dog joining story time, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send a little about yourself, your experience, and what you enjoy most about working with this age group.
