Ashleigh
Childminder in Sutton
My Summary
About Me
My name is Ashleigh, I'm a childminder registered with Ofsted, working alongside my partner Ray, offering a light and airy setting, where children can explore and learn with a wide range of resources and loose parts, helping them become confident, curious and well rounded little humans, making sure that they are ready for their next steps in thier learning journey.
Myself and my partner work alongside each other, meaning the ratios are small and we can give children our full attention. They come in and feel safe and secure in an enriched environment.
Becoming parents has been our greatest achievement and has really been our whole focus the last decade. We've really dedicated making sure we are raising kind, independent and all round good humans to be part of the next generation. That's where most of my experience lies. Our setting has been open for just over a year now, and during that time, we have welcomed families from first time parents to families who wanted a change for what they already had. We have been able to support both the parents and the children in their transitions. Whilst i have recently taken on courses in Forest school teaching along with Montessori and loose parts practices I really believe my first hand experiences make me a suited person to help other children grow, explore and develop into great little humans. I have all the relevant training in childminding and safeguarding, paediatric first aid, development and great knowledge of the EYFS framework and an enhanced DBS, all certificates can be seen on request. Ray also has all relevant training and certificates, along with his paediatric first aid and DBS and is our dedicated play and imagination coordinator (real role we promise ).
My Experience
Nearly 13 years as a mum is great first-hand experience. I have learned from my time as a mum and I would say with the experience I have, I'm confidently a better mum than ever. I enjoy watching children develop so rapidly and really come out of their shell. I spent my early 20s as a play coordinator at mothercare, and have just thrived from being around children, whether they are family, friends or in the general community. I have passed all the relevant training to become a childminder and continue to work on my professional development. Our setting has now been open for over a year, and each term we offer more and more as we get to know children better. They become and extension to our own family.

We are so grateful to have Ashleigh and Ray as our daughter’s childminder. They are truly wonderful. From day one, Ashleigh, her husband, and their three lovely children welcomed us with so much kindness that they quickly became like part of our own family.
Ashleigh is honestly made for this job. She creates such a calm, happy, and loving environment for the children, and you can see how naturally and genuinely she cares for them. Our daughter absolutely loves her time there, and we feel completely at ease knowing she’s in such good hands.🥰
And as if that wasn’t enough, Ashleigh is also a talented photo artist, she captures the sweetest moments and sends us beautiful photos that we will treasure forever. It’s such a special extra touch that means so much to us.
We couldn’t be happier that we found Ashleigh and her family. They are some of the kindest, most caring, and always smiling people you could ever meet. We feel incredibly lucky to have them in our lives.
We can’t recommend Ashleigh setting enough!

I’m so incredibly grateful to have found Ashleigh and Ray. My little girl started with them when she was just 7 months old, and as a slightly neurotic new mum, I really struggled with going back to work. Ashleigh made that transition so much easier for both of us.
My daughter (now 15 months) has had so many of her “firsts” at Ashleigh’s, sitting up, crawling, standing, and now walking! All such huge milestones. Ashleigh also helped guide us through the switch from formula to solids. I’ve turned to her so many times for advice and reassurance, and it’s been amazing having someone so caring and supportive to lean on.
My daughter gets to enjoy so many lovely activities, walks in the park, picnics, feeding the ducks, soft play groups, and plenty of time in Ashleigh and Ray’s beautiful garden. It’s the perfect mix for indoor and outdoor fun.
It’s also been really lovely having Ray as part of the setting, it’s so nice for the children to have a positive male presence around, and you can see how much they all adore him.
Ashleigh and Ray’s family have honestly become an extension of ours 💛✨
