My Experience

I bring a strong background in childcare and education to my role at Poppy Nursery & Daycare. Over the years, I’ve worked as both an Early Years Practitioner in nurseries and a Teaching Assistant in primary schools, supporting children of different ages and abilities. These roles gave me hands-on experience in helping children learn, grow, and build confidence in a fun, supportive way.

I also have valuable experience working with children who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This has taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and celebrating each child’s individuality. Every child deserves to feel included and supported, and I make it a priority to create an environment where they can flourish at their own pace.

To give parents peace of mind, I hold qualifications in early childhood education and paediatric first aid, meaning your child’s safety and wellbeing are always at the heart of what I do. My goal is to combine professional knowledge with a warm, home-from-home approach, so children feel happy, secure, and inspired to learn every day.

One of my key focuses at Poppy Nursery & Daycare is helping children prepare for their big step into school. Thanks to my experience in nurseries and primary schools, I know exactly what skills children need by the time they start reception – from early literacy and numeracy to independence, social skills, and confidence.

Although I am a childminder, I’ve designed my setting to feel much like a nursery while keeping the warmth and comfort of a family home. We have a dedicated play and learning area within our house that gives children space to explore, create, and learn through structured activities, alongside a cosy home environment where they feel safe and cared for. This balance allows children to enjoy the best of both worlds – the familiarity of home and the opportunities of a nursery.

My Availability

Our opening hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm.

We are also pleased to offer school pick-ups from Prince Edward and St Theresa's, providing a seamless transition from school to our nurturing environment.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
• Childminding from £6.00 per hour

At Poppy Nursery & Daycare, our fees are as follows:

Childminding: £6 per hour, per child

Babysitting: £13 per hour
