About Me
Hi, I’m Abby — a qualified, experienced baby/babysitter based in Thornbury (BS35), and a mum to two young children aged 4 & 2.
I have over 7 years of experience working with children, including in schools, nannying, babysitting, and supporting children with additional needs. I’m also an active Girlguiding volunteer, having completed my Leadership Qualification and achieved both my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards. I’m currently working towards my Gold Duke of Edinburgh and Queen’s Guide Award.
I use basic Makaton daily and hold current training in Paediatric First Aid, Level 3 Safeguarding, and Prevent Duty. I’m passionate about helping children thrive and building positive, trusting relationships with families.
My Experience
7+ Years with Girlguiding-
Volunteering with children of various ages, planning activities, supporting events, and currently working towards my Queen’s Guide Award.
KS1 Classroom Support-
Completed an apprenticeship in a primary school, working with children in Key Stage 1 and supporting early years learning.
1:1 SEN Support-
Experience working directly with a child with special educational needs, supporting learning and communication.
Nannying-
Provided consistent, full-time care for a local family, supporting daily routines, play, and development.
Babysitting (4+ Years)-
