About Me
I am a registered childminder with the Care Inspectorate, based in Ladywell, Livingston. I am married and have three children. One son is at university, and I have a son and a daughter who attend local schools.
We also have a very friendly family dog with an excellent temperament around children.
I live in a quiet residential area with a safe, fully enclosed back garden where children can play and explore. I provide drop-offs and pick-ups from Harrysmuir Primary School and local nurseries.
I regularly take minded children to local playgroups and toddler groups and make good use of the facilities available in Livingston, including parks, soft play centres and the local library.
All eligible members of the household are vaccinated against Covid-19.
I am a registered partner provider with West Lothian Council, offering funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since 2007, with previous experience working in a local playgroup.
My experience is broad and varied. Through both my professional work and personal experience, I have developed a strong understanding of inclusive practice. I am happy to welcome and support children with additional needs and work closely with families to ensure their child’s individual needs are met.
Continuing Professional Development is important to me, and I regularly take part in online training and in-person workshops to keep my knowledge and practice up to date. My professional development plans for 2026 include completing Level 1 Makaton training to further support children’s communication and inclusion.
My Qualifications
I hold a degree in Psychology, a postgraduate qualification in Educational Research, and an SVQ in Children and Young People. I also have up-to-date First Aid, Child Protection, and Food Hygiene certificates, along with a range of other training.
Continued professional development is very important to me, and all my certificates are available for prospective clients to view.

Kathleen is fantastic,she worked really hard with my son, while i was at college. her son and husband are really nice people, even her cats are very friendly.
