About Me
My name is Suzanne Paterson. I was registered and have been working as a Childminder since 2008. I received an Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' (2014). I live with my Husband and my 3 Children who are 14, 11 and 3 in Yeadon, Leeds. As well as caring for children under 5 I am also able to make provision for children over this age and I can take and collect children attending Rufford Park Primary School and Seedlings Pre-School. I provide a warm, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families. The children's individual needs are recognised and valued and I foster a good close working relationship with parents and other agencies, which are used to promote high quality care and education. I provide a very safe environment for the children and acknowledge a healthy lifestyle. My home is well organised with independent access to an excellent range of toys and equipment. The children learn about the wider world and local community through visits to places of interest, carer groups and celebration of festivals around the world.
My Experience
I have been an Ofsted Registered Childminder since April 2008 and decided to go down this route as I love being with children. I qualified as a Teaching Assistant and I really enjoyed volunteering at my local school as a Teaching and Reading Assistant. I have Advanced Childminder status and Accredited which means I can provide 15 hours free nursery places for children aged 3 and over and also 2 year funding. I have enrolled on the ECAT (Every Child a Talker) programme which promotes early language skills in children.
