About Me
Hi, my name is Emma, I’m a highly experienced primary school teacher/face to face tutor specialising in EYFS and KS1 ages 4-8 years including English, Maths and Phonics.
I have a passion to develop and build children’s confidence and understanding with fun and practical activities.
I believe ensuring children have a can do attitude is the key to success. The importance of getting to know each child and creating an individual learning plan is paramount.
Using children’s interests to develop their skills and adapting each session to ensure goals can be met and celebrated is fundamental in my teaching.
I’m based on the outskirts of Colchester in the village of Ardleigh. Happy to travel to you, extra charges may apply depending on distance.
My Experience
I am a patient and skilful teacher with over 20 years teaching experience in key stage 1 and lower key stage 2 classrooms. Experience of children with SEN needs and children needing extra support in a variety of areas.

BA honours in Primary Education in with QTS
Qualified in 2004
Level 3 BTEC in Childhood Studies 2021

Emma has been absolutely fantastic with our 5-year-old daughter. She is usually full of energy and chatter, but Emma manages to keep her fully engaged for the entire hour — something we rarely manage ourselves!
Our daughter is always excited for her lessons, and it’s clear that Emma brings out the best in her. The English phonics sessions have been incredibly effective, and we’ve seen real progress in both her confidence and understanding.

Emma has been tutoring my 4 year old son for a few months now, she’s patient and fun, always on time and reliable, really gets my son engaging for a whole hour which is rare otherwise! She brings so many lovely resources to make learning interesting. I would recommend her to anyone and will continue to have her help us with my sons learning, and my younger son too once hes older! Thankyou xx
