Part Time Nanny Job In Empingham
About Me
My husband and I have recently had our daughter in May - Alora. We live in Rutland but my husband works in Bristol and internationally so is away a lot. With no family network in the area we have no support network so are looking for someone special to help with our little pickle when mummy and daddy need a couple of hours off!
Alora is sleep trained and has 3 naps a day. She is breastfed but only 2 feeds fall within the daytime hours. I am able to pump and Alora does know how to take bottles as well (she did at a month old anyway) but I prefer this is only when absolutely necessary in one off circumstance, therefore I am never far away. She is also now weaning and all food is prepped and ready to go each day.
This support is one day a week or every other week guaranteed (happy to be flexible and appreciate the same in return) and adhoc. It is really important for us that she builds a bond with the person caring for her so only interested in those that have the time to care for her in their schedule for the next 4 months at least.
My Requirements
General help with baby - knowledge and experience with young babies, developmental play, preferable but not required is experience with weaning. Care only within our house and locally for walks. Once she is down to 2 naps a day and a trusting relationship has been built with her carer then we are open to her being taken out for longer for day trips.

Erin worked with our family from June to August 2025, supporting us with our daughter from 6 to 15 weeks old.
Her role was to provide assistance in the home one day a week while I recovered from childbirth and cared for our exclusively breastfed baby. Erin’s duties were primarily shared care, and she did not have sole charge for longer than brief periods (around 30 minutes). She did not implement any sleep techniques or offer advice on sleep, feeding, or newborn care during her time with us.
There were also some lapses in judgment — for example, taking our 2-month-old baby out for a walk during a heatwave despite the high temperatures. On another occasion, Erin requested to take our baby to a social gathering with other nannies and babies — a group of people I had never met. As our baby was very young, exclusively breastfed, and had not yet travelled in the car with her, I did not feel this would benefit our baby and declined.
Erin then chose to end her placement without notice, communicating this via text message. While Erin was friendly, our experience did not align with what is currently described on her professional profile.
I had not intended to leave a review, but after seeing her profile’s description of her time with our family, I felt it was important to provide an accurate account of our experience. Families considering working with her may wish to clarify expectations, responsibilities, and preferred working style in advance.
Overall
Suzy came to us 3 weeks post C section when we were having problems with my daughters sleeping. Within hours Suzy had to drive me to hospital where I was admitted. Despite this Suzy was incredibly flexible and helped my husband care for my daughter and I in the hospital, while also teaching us an enormous amount under slightly crazy circumstances!
Suzy didn’t just look at her sleep but her whole routine and as a result taught us many tools, tricks and armed us with knowledge so we could better care and connect with our daughter. As a result of Suzy’s help I now have an extremely happy and healthy 10 week old.
Consultant services are never inexpensive but Suzy genuinely saved my mental health and in the long run was worth every penny and I would not hesitate to recommend her time after time!
