About Me

My name is Keely and I was born in Wellington, New Zealand. I started my little
journey working, nurturing and caring for children in 2016. This is where I
started babysitting, nannying and working as a teacher aid. In 2018 I began
working in early childhood education and in 2019 I began my bachelor’s degree
in early childhood teaching. This was full time study and allowed me to work at
the same time. This gave me the wonderful blend of learning and being able to
apply these skills to my teaching role. The degree involved a range of learning
around child development, behavioural management, developing nurturing
environments for learning and growth as well as professional development with a
specific aim around growing as a teacher.
As I started this wonderful journey I learnt about what sat at the core of this
role - and it was relationships. As I had such an important part in the children’s
lives it was crucial for me to understand what the families’ aspirations were and
what was an important value for them as a family. I have worked closely with
families for the past six years, supporting their children in developing a strong
sense of belonging, supporting them to develop connections and work through a
range of behavioural challenges and children who need extra support with
special needs. This is something I feel passionate about and I enjoy making a
positive difference and developing the children's love for learning and the
wonders of life!
I am an adventurous, kind and caring person and these sit at the core of my
values. I enjoy being outdoors, playing sports such as basketball, netball and
connecting and socialising with people. I am patient and have worked with a range
of different personalities and ages so I enjoy being a part of the hustle bustle and
enjoy being a stepping stone and support for children and young people as they
navigate the world.
