About Me

We need a Nanny to help support our 10 year old son Freddie from after school pick up (William Cobbett) to 7pm on weekdays.

Fred needs picking up, taking to activities and doing extra learning after school.

Fred is a bright and funny boy, but is on the autistic spectrum and suffers anxiety. This presents with refusal to engage in challenging or new activities and has lead to him falling behind with his basic reading and writing skills.

Fred has an older sister Immy who is in year 7 at Weyden school and she has many clubs and after school activities. Katy is a working single mum who is juggling fulfilling Immy’s needs and her necessity to work and spend time on the local farm where they all ride horses - this is a big part of their family life.

I (Tom, Dad) live two hours away and there is no family locally.

Katy does not have enough capacity to do it all and we feel a nanny to support Fred would ease the pressure on Katy and give Fred the opportunity to break the back of the skills that he needs to flourish in school.

Fred loves gaming like many boys his age, he loves riding at the yard and walking with Bunny (the family dog), spending time outside, swimming, skiing, cycling, scooting, boxing, chess, baking (he loves baking), watching films… and (when in the right mood) reading and drawing.

We are seeking a nanny to develop a stable relationship with Fred and put time into bringing on his basic “school” skill set: reading and writing. Everyone from family, friends to coaches and teachers all enjoy spending time with Fred. He is charming and funny. But he is also hard work and sometimes he is his own worst enemy: because it is hard to teach him, he ends up not getting taught.

This job will be focused and extremely rewarding as you help Fred to realise his potential.
