My Summary
About Me
"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
(The quote's true origin is unknown)
I am a qualified Primary School and Montessori Teacher with an experience of supporting children with SEN and EAL. I offer one to one support for children in the Early Years/Reception with eating/toileting/sleeping/school readiness as well as maths/phonics/fine motor skills in their home environment.
My Experience
I hold QTS and I have over 15+ years’ experience working in various early years settings, in a primary school and as an OFSTED register childminder in North London. I was guiding children one to one in Montessori settings; I was leading a small group of children with SEN focusing on supporting their shared attention/fine motor and school readiness in a nursery setting. I was providing one to one and small group support for children with SEN/ADHD/global delay in mainstream classes as well as in an ARP (Additional Resource Provision) setting and providing fine motor interventions and supporting children with EAL using NELI method. I was using the Read Write Inc. scheme to support children to gain phonics knowledge.
I currently work for the NHS as a community nursery nurse for a school nursing team. Previously I was working with a health visiting team and been carrying out the one and two years old developmental reviews with families and was referring children to a variety of services such as Social Communication/Speech and Language/Audiology/Dietitian Team if needed for further check-up or support. At present I work for a school nursing team carrying out health promotions in schools as well as providing advice for parents with eating, behaviour, toileting and school readiness.
