Michelle
Childminder in Hemel Hempstead
My Summary
About Me
Hello, I’m Michelle, an Ofsted-registered childminder with over 20 years’ experience working with children and families in a variety of settings.
Before becoming a childminder, I worked as a Family Support Worker at my local Family Centre, supporting children and their families. I have also worked within Early Years and other family-support environments, giving me a wealth of experience working with children of different ages, needs and backgrounds.
In 2025, I decided to follow my long-term goal of becoming a childminder and completed specialist childminding training before registering with Ofsted. It has been a wonderful decision, and I really enjoy being able to provide children with warm, individualised care in a home-from-home environment.
I provide a safe, welcoming and nurturing setting where children can feel settled, happy and confident. I have a dedicated playroom with a wide range of age-appropriate toys, books and activities, as well as a large garden where children have plenty of opportunities for outdoor play, exploration and learning.
I believe children learn best when they feel secure and are able to learn through play and their own interests. I plan activities around each child’s individual stage of development and encourage independence, communication, confidence, kindness and curiosity.
As a mum of four myself, I understand how important it is for parents to know that their child is being cared for by someone they can trust. I aim to build positive relationships with both children and parents and provide a caring, reliable and professional childcare service.
My Experience
I have over 20 years’ experience working with children and families in a variety of roles and settings.
My previous experience includes working within Early Years and as a Family Support Worker, supporting children and families with a wide range of individual needs and circumstances.
As an Ofsted-registered childminder, I provide individualised, child-centred care and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). I observe children’s development, plan activities around their interests and next steps, and work closely with parents to support each child’s learning, wellbeing and development.
I have experience caring for children of different ages and abilities, including children with additional needs. I understand that every child is unique and adapt my care, activities and environment to meet their individual needs.
I regularly update my professional knowledge through training, including safeguarding and paediatric first aid, and I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can feel happy, secure and confident.

From my initial message, Michelle made us feel comfortable & we couldn’t wait to meet her.
She welcomed us into her lovely home, it felt safe, was clean, organised, engaging & absolutely perfect for our 1 & 2 year old.
It’s always apprehensive leaving your children but meeting Michelle melted all our worries away.
We had regular updates throughout the day & were happy to know the children were happy too!
We have found a true gem with Michelle & are looking forward to seeing her again.
