Job Advert: Housekeeper/Cook/Mother’s Help (Part-Time, Family Home)
We are a warm, friendly family looking for a kind and reliable person to help keep our home running smoothly. This is a part-time role for Monday to Friday, 3 hours each day, with flexible timings based on your availability.
This role is ideal for someone who is organised, takes pride in keeping a home clean and well-managed, and who also enjoys being around children. While the main focus is on housekeeping and food preparation, we would love to find someone who is also happy to spend time with our children on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen & Meal Prep
• Daily kitchen reset (load/unload dishwasher, wash up, tidy surfaces)
• Prepare simple meals and snacks (for dinner, freezer, or lunches)
• Keep kitchen and pantry clean, organised, and stocked
• Clean inside the fridge and throw out old food
• Water indoor plants
• Maintain dishwasher (refill salt and rinse aid)
Laundry & Clothing
• Collect and run household laundry
• Fold, iron, and put away clean clothes in the right places
• Organise and tidy children’s clothes
• Ensure all laundry is put away before the weekend
Home Tidying & Organisation
• General daily tidy-up of the house (top to bottom)
• Make all beds; change children’s bedding weekly
• Light cleaning of bathrooms (wipe surfaces, sinks, restock towels and soap)
• Keep the front porch area tidy and welcoming
• Remove cups/plates left around the house
Occasional/As Needed
• Help with childcare or babysitting from time to time (someone who genuinely enjoys being around children is important)
• Prepare guest rooms when needed
• Deep cleaning tasks like defrosting the freezer or cleaning the oven
• Descale appliances (fridge, coffee machine)
