Hi! My name is Waheeda Ishaque, I have 6 children and 5 grandchildren and I’m currently working as a teaching assistant with 7 years of experience supporting children in classroom settings. While I’m new to nannying professionally, I bring a strong foundation in child development, patience, and a passion for helping children grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
I would describe myself as calm, caring, and naturally intuitive when it comes to understanding children's needs. I’m a great listener and always aim to create a space where children feel safe, heard, and encouraged. I believe that every child deserves to be respected and treated as an individual, and I enjoy building trust with both children and parents alike.
Furthermore, I hold a current DBS certificate, as well as a safeguarding certificate.
I’m excited to bring my classroom experience into a home setting and build strong, trusting relationships with both children and families.
My Experience
In my current role, I work closely with children in primary school, helping with everything from daily routines and classroom behaviour to learning activities and one-on-one support. I also assist with planning activities, guiding learning through play, and supporting children's emotional and social development. I regularly assist with reading, phonics, early math, and creative play, and I’ve also supported children with special educational needs (SEND), helping to create inclusive, supportive environments tailored to their individual needs.
I’m confident working with children of different ages and needs, and I’m skilled at creating a calm, positive atmosphere—whether it’s helping with homework, organizing creative games, or simply being a reliable, caring presence.
I’m now looking to take the next step into nannying so I can offer more one-on-one support and form strong, lasting bonds with families. I’d love the opportunity to bring my classroom skills into your home and help your child feel safe, supported, and confident every day.
