About Me

My name is Mariam, and I’m a caring, gentle, and trustworthy childcare provider with a strong background as a Teaching Assistant. I offer private home-based childcare to support families after school hours, during weekends, and in school holidays.

I bring several years of hands on experience supporting children across Early Years, KS1, and KS2 including many children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech delays, and social/emotional challenges.

I believe every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and loved. My approach to care is calm, patient, and supportive built on trust, communication, and consistency. Whether I’m helping with homework, reading a bedtime story, or simply being present in quiet moments, I always aim to meet each child where they are.

In your home, I can support with:

• Homework, phonics, and learning through play
• Creative and screen-free activities
• SEND-aware routines and emotional support
• Calm and structured help with transitions like mealtime and bedtime
• Listening, encouragement, and kindness every step of the way

I am DBS-checked, safeguarding-trained, and known by families and teachers as dependable, warm-hearted, and deeply respectful of each child’s unique needs and personality.

I am first aid trained and have direct experience supporting children with asthma and diabetes including monitoring blood sugar, administering inhalers, and staying calm in emergencies.

Whether you’re looking for occasional help or regular care, I will love to be a part of your child’s journey. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m happy to answer any questions and see how I can support your family’s needs.

My Experience

I am an experienced ,calm, health-aware childcare provider who truly understands children’s individual needs.
I currently work in a primary school setting, supporting children from Early Years to Year 2.
This includes one-to-one support, group activities, and learning interventions.
My work spans a range of needs including children with autism, speech and language delays, emotional and behavioural challenges, and medical needs like asthma and diabetes.

In my role, I assist with:
• Calm, structured routines (especially during transitions, meals, and home times)
• Delivering phonics and literacy sessions (EYFS & KS1)
• Supporting emotional regulation through safe, gentle strategies
• Communicating with parents and staff to ensure consistent care
• Providing health-aware assistance, such as using inhalers or helping monitor sugar levels where required

At home, I also offer childcare outside school hours, combining my school experience with a safe, nurturing space. I understand how to create structure while keeping children emotionally supported, gently guided, and happy.

I’ve completed several short professional development courses in SEND, autism awareness, child behaviour, phonics, safeguarding, and early mental health all of which help me deliver well-rounded, supportive care in both home and school environments.

I will love to support your family, please get in touch.
