About Me
Hello everyone! My name is Jamal Chowdhury and I am a recent Criminology graduate from City St Georges, University of London.
Throughout my own educational journey, ive been equipped with critical and analytical thinking, being efficiently organised in workload, understanding behaviour through patterns and solutions etc. Through my academic experience along with my warm and friendly personality , I hope to pass on my knowledge and expertise to my students as the only thing thats important to me is helping them achieve their goals in life.
I am very excited and eager to tutor students of all ages who are learning Maths or English in KS1/2 and students studying aspects of Criminology through Sociology and Psychology. Whether its just helping them with their homework , improving their skills and just helping them get back on track with certain content, id always want to offer a helping hand
There is no limit for patience and perseverance when it comes to supporting any student in difficulty and helping them get through their academic journey. I look forward to working with anyone thats interested!
My Experience
I have previous work experience at a primary school in where I was a shadow TA. Ive supported students in learning their phonics , their handwriting skills , spelling and grammar etc.
I have also engaged in creative play and imagination through outdoor experiences with classes of Reception and Nusery Students.
I have volunteered at a private childminding business in where students range from the ages of 2-4 , following in line with the EYFS curriculum provided. This includes having responsibilities of covering childrens development, Personal , social and emotional development and expressive arts and design.
My degree in Criminology also entails me to assess behavioural management , observing the actions of risky behaviour, providing strategies and solutions etc.
I have a basic and enhanced DBS check when required.
Currently I am an Events Ambassador at my university in where I am in charge of senior and management shifts in organising Taster days for students , informing them of the courses theyre interested in , signposting them to relevant services for wellbeing and academic help and advising them on the relevant steps needed to transition into Higher Education.
