About Me

I work with my husband who is also a registered childminder, We are both individually qualified/Ofsted registered, we can provide childcare for up to 6 children each day.

We live in Walthamstow E17 (Northeast London), with our son Ethan and our pet dog Milo, in a terraced house with a nice sized garden. We are walking distance of Lloyd Park, Kitchener Road Park with Brokkys Croft (a small play park as an extension to our garden) opposite our house and a short bus journey to Epping Forest.

We have created a home away from home (hyggelig) environment which provides a warm, nurturing, and safe environment with an active, creative, and fun atmosphere (a hyggelig environment is a Scandinavian way of life, socializing, cosy contentment and well-being, feeling sheltered and safe, soft lighting, soft pastel shades or strong muted colours). We encompass this with our choice of furniture, colours and toys in our home, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere.

We believe that outdoor play and outdoor education plays an important role to children’s development and helps them reach their full potential. Every young person should experience the world outdoors as an extension to their learning and as an essential part of their personal and social development.
Our aims are to encourage children to build their self-awareness, self-confidence, and social skills to develop and reach their milestones in a fun and creative way through arts and crafts and play.

My Experience

I qualified in South Africa and had 2 years’ experience working in early years preschool before moving to London.
I have 23 years’ experience working in the UK across mainstream school nurseries/Early Years settings including working with early years children with SEN. Plus 1-year experience as a room leader for the 2-year-old room, before becoming a childminder.

I am passionate about providing first class childcare, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a relaxed attitude and making learning FUN! I have now been working as a childminder since 1st June 2021.
I am a strong believer in learning through play and allowing children to express themselves through imaginative and role play.
With comprehensive knowledge and understanding of OFSTED and the EYFS standards, this enables me to set up outstanding and engaging indoor and outdoor activities.

Children benefit from a nurturing environment that supports their individual needs and interests. Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, the setting provides an engaging curriculum and strong emotional support. Children learn about sustainability and develop good physical skills. Parents praise the consistent, loving care.
