Hi, I’m Laura ! I would describe myself a warm, happy, and friendly person with over 15 years of experience looking after children of all ages.
I qualified with an HNC in Childcare and Education back in 2001 and quickly discovered that my real passion is caring for children in their home environment rather than in nurseries.
I started working as a nanny in 2003 and have since supported several wonderful families—sometimes full-time, sometimes part-time—caring for babies through to school-aged children. I love creating a warm, fun, and safe environment where children can learn, play, and feel happy and secure. I'm big on getting out and about. I like taking the kids to soft play, beach, swimming and other fun stuff.
From 2016 to 2019, I worked with a lovely family in Dumbreck, providing flexible, home-based childcare that fit perfectly around their busy lives. When they moved away, I focused on my life round my complementary therapies business, but due to a mixture of life stuff, I had a realisation - I had to come out of Retirement. Nurturing and looking after children is a strength of mine & I miss being with children — my therapies keep me busy but I have 2 days where I could be out doing something else. I don't want a job doing something I'm not passionate about....so here I am!!
I’m happy to help with everyday routines, school runs, activities, and keeping things running smoothly at home. While I don’t currently have a PVG (as I haven’t worked in childcare for a few years), I’m more than happy to update this if needed.
