About Me
I am a practitioner who values play and creation. I have a passion for having something new everyday for a child to talk about or a game to play. I believe it is important to balance play and learning and believe it is always important to answer children’s ‘why’ questions, no matter how silly they may seem to us, it is their first time on this planet and so it is for me as well, so we may learn something new together!
My Experience
My little sibling has additional needs (autism) so I have a good understanding of challenging behaviour and adapting activities for different levels of development. I have two years of experience at nurseries and a primary school as part of my level 3 T-level childcare course! Because of that, I have experience with children ages 1-10 years. I also have experience with supporting a child with cerebral palsy, by being their one-to-one for lunch times and have supported a child with very challenging behaviour throughout school and after school club as well. I work at breakfast and afterschool clubs so I have the experience of not only formal childcare settings but informal childcare settings.
My Qualifications
I have just completed a two-year, level 3 course in early years education. I have gotten a distinction! This course has given me more than 800 hours of experience in nursery settings and a primary school setting which I developed and honed my skills as an early years practitioner. I have also learnt about theory and regulations related to childcare throughout the course, so I have reason behind everything I do, which we learnt to do during our reflection sessions.
My Availability
I am pretty free for the most of August, except for a couple days where I am on trips or busy.
From September, I will be available on weekends and Mondays. I am studying on Tuesdays and Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays, I am working, but that may change!
