My Summary
About Me
I’ve always had a passion for working with children and feel strongly about the importance of play-based learning, especially in the early years. I’m a fully qualified EYFS teacher and currently lead phonics in my school, where I use the RWI (Read Write Inc.) programme to support early literacy development. I’m creative, kind, and calm by nature, and I love bringing a relaxed but purposeful energy into everything I do with children—whether that’s a messy baking session, a bug hunt in the garden, or some storytelling with puppets and crafts.
I’m happiest when I’m outdoors, in the kitchen baking, or getting stuck into something hands-on. I enjoy gardening, painting, exploring new places, and anything that allows me to be creative. I really believe in helping children enjoy life, feel safe, and be curious—and that’s what I aim to bring to any childcare role I take on.
My Experience
I am a fully qualified Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher with a First Class Honours degree in Professional Practice in Educational Studies and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Since 2019, I have been working at a primary school in Batley, where I currently teach and care for a class of 30 children and oversee the EYFS unit. My role involves supporting children’s learning and development across all areas, managing routines, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
Prior to this, I gained experience working with a range of age groups in schools across Dewsbury and Batley. This has given me a strong understanding of children’s developmental needs and how to adapt my approach to suit different ages and personalities. My teaching background means I bring structure, creativity, and a deep understanding of early childhood development to my childcare practice.
